My parents are paying for our wedding. I would like to get them something nice as a Thank-you present. But i’m not sure what would be nice enough considering what they’re doing for us. My Maid/Matron of Honor suggested paying for my father’s tux and my mother’s hair/make-up for the wedding day.
Is this a good thought? But this is a gift that isn’t much of a surprise. I guess if I had no better thoughts I would do this.
Any one got a suggestions?

I like gifts that stand the test of time and will always remind your parents of your wedding. Al album is nice. Jewelry. and engraved clock with a frame.
We’re getting my mom a ring and my father a watch.

I agree with Meowkers. I think you should get them something that will be a lasting memory of the wedding. My brother and his wife put together an album for my mom and she still looks at it alllllllllll the time.
We’re getting both of our mothers crystal frames and then after the wedding, we’ll send them one really nice print to keep inside. Both of our fathers are very outdoorsy so we got them engraved hunting knives.

As part of our photo package, we get albums for the parents. So they will already get albums with pictures from the wedding that they are allowed to pick. The only draw back to getting them jewelry is that i’d have to tell my mom so she wouldnt’ have to go out and buy her own for the wedding. Kinda of ruins the surprise. But i could. And my father isn’t really a jewelry type guy.

i love gifts that have meaning! so i really love the PP ideas.
I personally wanted to do something fun for my parents, they spent so much time and money on my wedding i wanted to give them a weekend away, paid for, to just enjoy each others company and relax after the wedding festivities. I booked a weekend in charleston for a month after the wedding at this little bed and breakfast right on the water. they aboslutely loved it and it wasnt too expensive – $160 a night – it was the least i could do for what they gave me – they went the end of march and had a great time. i think they were really surprised and really loved the gift. especially since my mom was like “i’ve never heard of parents gifts before”
