I've stayed in the Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge many times and it's super cool. It's really boutique-y, and (I think) it has the right look for a photo shoot. I stay there for work though, so I think it might be a little $$. The photos on the hotel website are pretty true-to-life.
The Langham is gorgeous. Our room was really interesting with slanted windows and an interesting window treatment. I've heard that the new Liberty Hotel is amazing (it's the old jailhouse that they rehabbed).
i'm getting married at the marlowe in cambridge and i can attest to the fact it is really fun inside. they use many different textures and patterns (think leopard carpet, navy velvet setees, dark red duponi silk curtains) and the furnishings are modern interpretations of art deco pieces.

I agree with the Langham. You may also want to check out the boston Harbor Hotel and the Four Seasons. I think the Four Seasons would be great for what you describe. It is also next to the pubplic gardens. Great for photo opps!
I love the Hotel Marlowe! Also the Nine Zero, but that has more of a modern vibe.

Hi, ladies! I'm looking for a hotel in Boston or Cambridge that has pretty rooms. As in, nice windows/curtains, hopefully an elaborate headboard on the bed, antique-y furnishings if possible. It's for a photo shoot.
Since the website photos are never accurate, can anyone recommend one that's not too horribly expensive? I don't want to walk into every hotel in the area and demand to see their rooms... ;)
