I love my mother dearly but she’s driving me insane with dress pictures.
She texts them to me ALL day which is annoying all in its self and to top it off she has never understood what I like when it comes to clothes and it’s the same with wedding dresses.
Now I have asked her to stop texting them to me and her her up with Pinterest so she can pin them instead but she doesn’t grasp that I see them on my home page when I get on Pinterest.
So after 17!!!! Texts of wedding dresses yesterday I called her and told her that I already felt like I knew what I was looking for and I just want to try things on now because “I’ll never know by looking at pictures I have to try things on”
she clearly took offense to this and said she’d “stop bothering me” and Hung up. She’s always been a little dramatic like this and I know she’s just excited but when I’m working I don’t need my phone going off 5000 times a day with pictures of wedding dresses I’d never like. (I have to keep my phone on for work)
any suggestions on how to fix this little issue so she’s not mad and I’m not going insane?

@Laurenskii: I would just tell her that you are SO GLAD she’s excited and you feel lucky to have her helping you… Just please do it on pinterest and not over text because it’s interrupting you getting your job done. That’s it. You should still let her pin her heart away and then she can still be spending time “looking” and you can continue to KNOW you won’t be making a decision till they’re on your body.

@Andthepupmakes3: I told her that I think what’s happening is she’s falling in love with dresses and just gets excited and texts them to me to MAKE SURE I see them. Because when I get on Pinterest I see the ones she’s texted me +300 more lol

@Laurenskii: LOL oh man…. Well she could do like I did with venues– I pinned all the options but I put a note that they were *FAVE* on the pin so I could refer back easily. Either way woman should not be texting this stuff! That would drive me crazy! Even email would be too much if there are multiple a day. Unfortunately you need a non-alerting solution, whatever that may be LOL

@Andthepupmakes3: LMAO you have the same reaction my sister did which was her laughing hysterically for 10 mins hahaha

@Laurenskii: Aww lol. I would just reiterate to her that you are so happy she’s excited and you want to share this experience with her, but you already have a style in mind that you love. Once you are ready to officially dress shop, would you be interested in taking her along so she can see what you like?

@Laurenskii: I would tell her – sorry if I was a little short mom, I appreciate that you’re excited it’s just that it’s very distracting to have my phone going off all day for non-work items. If you pin them, I promise to look at them in the evening and highlight the ones I like for you.
My sister is very overdramatic like your mom and you can’t tell her anything without her flipping out.

@Andthepupmakes3: has a very reasonable response. It would drive me crazy too. If she keeps texting is there a way to silence only her texts (like specific ring-tones for different people)?

@Laurenskii: she’ll get over it. You’re fine.

Create a secret board on Pinterest just for her to pin the dresses she likes. ( make sure you turn off your push notifications for pinterest) then tell her you it will be a special board that only the people You invite can see! Take the time to look at what she pins and give her some feedback. I can relate, because as a mom…. our dresses were not this beautiful when we got married. And it’s so much fun to look at what is out there and what we think our daughters would look beautiful in! Just be happy she is excited! You could have a mom who doesn’t care!
