A lot of my friends have been getting engaged, making wedding plans, and getting married. I’ve been witness to a lot of great ideas. One friend wanted to decorate a really bland room on a tight budget. I thought it was really gorgeous and elegant, so I am sharing!
Drape 4-5 swags of tulle from the ceiling out to the corners of the room. Drape or intertwine white chritmas lights with the tulle. It really creates a tentlike effect.
Along the walls, place tray tables covered in organza and place silk filler bushes on top. Underneath, place small lights or flashlight to create a glowing effect.
These two really set the atmosphere with a soft, romantic glow for cheaper than buying expensive lighting elements!
To decorate the tables, forego expensive tablecloths, try king size white sheets! Add placemats and try bulkpartyzone.com for cheap pretty plates. Place small salad plate inside of dinner plate on table in coordinating colors.
Wrap utensils in napkins and tie with "happily ever after" ribbon to be found at oriental trading.
Place simple flower stems in vases that can be found at walmart or dollar tree.
Place votives (candles4less) on mirrors (codwholesale).
Finally, she had small goldfish in glass bowls from dollar tree.
It was a very inexpensive way to make the room like real thought had been put into it. Adults loved the glamour effect and the kids especially liked the fish!
I hope this can help some of you who are on a tight budget as well!
