my mom smoked 30 years and quit with that medicine… I forget what it is… oh chantix!  it worked perfectly for her but did give her some nightmares.  I quit because my finace didnt smoke and I felt gross kissing him after I did- I only smoked 4 years or so though.  good luck! it’s so worth it!

I used the gum a little bit but I think I went through like, maybe one box. For me the hardest part was the habit part. As in, I got used to going out for a smoke break at certain times during the day, so I substituted that with a couple of pieces of sugar free candy and a walk away from my desk. Brush your teeth right after dinner so you want to keep the clean feeling. Drink hot tea to keep you busy at night.

It all depends on what your triggers are, those are just a couple of things that worked for me!

    Good luck!

One thing I will say is that the first time I did anything since I quit smoking was hard. But every time you wake up, finish a meal, etc. without smoking, it gets easier. But also be prepared for the urge to sneak up on you. A few months into quitting I was doing good, not really feeling the need to smoke and then I went on a road trip by myself and BAM it was like the first day all over. Just because I hadn’t gone on a long car trip without smoking before.

I had to do it the expensive way.  I bought a townhouse and new furniture and I didn’t want them to stink!  Seriously though, tell everyone and ask them to distract you.

@pinkgreenandyellow:  My mom and brother quit smoking by switching to electronic cigarettes (e-cigs). The brand Blu is good. Contains nicotine and you can choose the amount it contains to slowly wean yourself off. It’s pretty good; I tried it myself
