I think between $4K-$15K based on my shopping.

Usually people will list the price they paid on  It can help you get an idea for what the dress will cost at retail.

Pick the names of the ones you like, for example, “Eliza”.

Then go to and search for Vera Wang and that style name.

In the listing it will show you the retail price the bride paid.

@Diamond30:  I think you should probably try on the dress before really considering whether or not it’s worth the money. I also thought I would be a Vera Wang bride…I loved so many of her dresses. However, I got the opportunity to try on several dresses from her 2013 collections last week and instantly fell out of love with them. Although they were gorgeous, they were all SOOOOO heavy and awkward. I immediately knew VW was not for me. I’m not saying this will happen to you, but I found that most of the dresses I loved online (other designers as well) where not the dresses I loved in person.

At the end of the day only you will be able to decide whether its worth the money. What is your budget for a wedding dress? Just wondering how far over a Vera wang dress would put you.

Personally I would never go into debt for a wedding dress. I think you should look at your options first before spending so much. Look at cheaper designers and look at the White by Vera Wang range in Davids bridal. Also consider getting a replica made – try looking at the threads about Jasmines bridal shop, you’ll see lots of examples of their work there.

@Diamond30:  Hrrmm… that’s a tough one. Personally, I think the dress choice should be solely yours… Your FI seeing a dress on a model versus his future wife walking down the aisle is a VERY different thing!

(As an aside, I can’t wait to wear my White by Vera Wang ballgown from David’s!)

If you have your heart set on that particular Vera Wang, I don’t think you’ll be happy with the dresses in the Vera Wang line at David’s Bridal. The fabric/sewing/quality are so, so different. I’d go to a bridal salon that carries many different designers (I tried on dresses that I loved from Alfred Angelo, Maggie Sottero, La Sposa/Pronovias, Allure, etc) and see what you like. Many times, the idea you have in your head when you go in will be totally different than what you like when you try dresses on.
