Jaanat:  try make up forever hd micro perfecting primer. I tried that out for my makeup trial for my wedding that’s in august and it worked amazing. I also tried their hd foundation which the makeup workers says is one of the beet for photographs because it doesn’t have sunscreen in it that will cause reflection in the cameras. You should try these both together. I liked their foundation because it’s light and you can add more or less layers for more or less coverage. They also recommended the urban decay chill cooling spray/mist but I hated it and it made my face wet and shiny and dewy which is bad if you know you’re also going to sweat!

My MUA used MAC Prep and Prime for me, and it held REALLY well for 90+ degree weather for 12 hours!

Hourglass makes an amazing primer as well (You can get it at Sephora). I suggest actually testing them out because you never know how your skin will react.

IMO, primer does not have as much of an effect in hot weather as a make-up setting spray does. A good setting spray is the real game changer in the heat.

put on milk of magnesium first and then smashbox photo finish (or monistat chafing relief gel powder- it’s the same as smashbox but much cheaper).  I used these and my makeup lasted for my whole hot wedding day and night, through happy tears, sweat, and the pool.

I also started separate threads a while back about best primers, foundations, and setting sprays for oily brides (you might not be oily, but I think the products could work for hot/humid locations too potentially).

Smashbox Photo Finish and Make Up Forever primer are both good for hot days. Just make sure not to put on too much. It’s easy to overdo primer but if you put on too much it’ll have the opposite effect and your makeup will feel like it’s falling off.

Also, get a good setting spray to finish the look and keep the makeup on your face. Urban Decay All Nighter or Make Up Forever Mist and Fix are good choices.

lovekiss:  this. Also, being 30 doesn’t change how the primer will or won’t work for you. I suggest you test some out. Everyone’s skin is different and every bee is going to recommend what works for them.

most important is the setting spray!

Shkragoldfish:  I wouldn’t recommend milk of magnesia for any/everyone. It’s good for those with oily skin. I have dry skin and even in 100-degree NYC humid weather it’s horrible on me.

gelaine22:  makes sense- could potentially work for areas of the face that aren’t dry. definitely cheap to try out in advance if someone doesn’t have dry skin all over.  I can’t remember if I read that OP has dry skin.

I used the Smashbox Photo Finish Light version. I have oily skin and it was recommended to me by my makeup artist. It worked really well for me!
