I thought so too but I fell in love with a ring with round diamonds channel set in the band. I'm at work so I don't have the pictures to upload, but I can link to my engagement story post. What I never realized before staring at my ring for hours on end (only kind of kidding) is that the shape of stones in your band isn't distinct and just becomes a sparkling band.

I have a princess center with round sides - and I will have a round band. I love love love both the princess and rounds together
I have a princess cut solitaire and altjhough I have a simple gold band, I am getting 2 wedding bands and they have round diamonds. They look so lovely next to the princess cut. I think it gives the ring, or the set in my case, a little bit of flare!

Anyway, I have a radiant cut ring (not princess but same concept) with round diamonds in the band, and my wedding band will be all round diamonds. I think it really helps the center stone pop... I love it!

i have a friend who has princess center with princess sides and it looks nice too, but i prefer the round sides.
Don't know if this would help, but here are two rings I have that I wear together as 'decoys'. Ignore the gap on the left-hand side; the band is too big for my ring finger now. Everytime I wore them together I've gotten many compliments.
I don't know if this is what you want, but I have a princess solitaire and round cut diamond wedding band. I love the contrasting shapes :-). At first I wanted matching cuts (i.e. princess cut wedding band), but when I found this band I knew I had to have it and I now I can't imagine it any other way!

Anyone have have a princess cut center stone and then have a round cut diamond band? Looking for pics please! I'm worried the 2 rings would clash.
