All along, I’ve planned to have printed menus for each of our guests custom-made in our wedding colors. However, I’ve had a few rebuttals for this from some of my family and friends. People have said that it’s quite unnecessary for one but it can also create a stir if someone has chosen one menu item (ie. beef) but then sees that we have chicken wellington and may attempt to change their order. Are you doing menus? Is it an unnecessary item? What are the pros and cons?

We did menus, I think they look nice on the table and it’s also nice to remind your guests what they will be eating. We stamped the pre-selected meal choices onto our escort cards, so people didn’t really have the option of changing their order.

@BlondeBride090211: I didn’t do it but at one point thought should I. It wasn’t necessary though.

I don’t think it’s necessary but the hotel where we are having our reception is providing us with custom menus. If you want them I say go for it!

Go for it. Every wedding I’ve been to with a sit down dinner had printed menus. People knew their options when they chose them, even if they didn’t know the preparations, so I don’t think you need to worry about people changing their orders.
