Hi All! I was planning to get my invitations professionally printed, but I'm starting to think I could do it cheaper myself if I bought a nice printer and printed them at home.

I need advice though because I have NO idea what type of printer would be ideal. My only clue  would be that a more expensive one would = higher quality, but I know that's not always the case :)

Has anyone successfully printed their own invites? What type of printer/ink did you use? Do you have pictures you can share? :)

My hubby bought a new printer (HP Photosmart C4640) and we used it to print our daughters invites. It came with a Greeting Card factory photo card maker program that we also used. The only issue was it took about 6 hrs. Sunday to figure out what we were doing, but only because we don't use the computer for anything except the internet, so we were a little lost. We did figure it out so you should be fine. I posted some pictures of the invites which were 29.50 for 50 that we got from invitationpaper.com Hope this helps.Printer help! : wedding diy invites printing ink Ribbons 168Printer help! : wedding diy invites printing ink Ribbons 169Printer help! : wedding diy invites printing ink Ribbons 171

Well, I know for vellum you want inkjet and that cardsandpockets.com suggests Epsom photo printers (it's the company I'm planning on using).
