I just bought a HP Photosmart C6280 for around $150--it's a printer/scanner/copier and I am planning to do my invites with it (I know you said you aren't) and the programs and other stuff. So far, it's looking promising! It has 6 separate ink cartridges so you will only need to replace ink that you use a lot instead of dumping a whole ink cartridge because you use up one color. Amazon has it for pretty cheap and free shipping! Ink cartridges are about $9.99/ea for the colors and B&W is more for some reason but it's a bigger cartridge.

Hi! Quick question,
What do you recommend for a relatively inexpensive printer (<$150)? I currently have an HP Printer/Scanner/Copier from 2001 that is starting to die on me. Here's what I'm looking for:
- I'm not planning on doing my invitations with it, but would like to do the rest of the paper goods (programs, directions, etc) on it, so it should be able to handle paper thickness well.
- It must have copying and scanning capabilities.
- I want a good value on ink. I don't mind spending the cash on the cartridges if they handle well with normal wear & tear (I'll stock up for when I do the rest of the wedding paper goods, as I fully expect to chew through ink!).
If there's anyone who can help me, its you ladies! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
