So sorry to keep asking about this birch stuff, I’m this close to dropping the theme..
I just got a mock-up of my invitations from our vendor. I had asked for a border of a birch pattern around some classic font to be printed onto a bi-fold. My wedding is ‘English garden/rustic’, but I’m taking these elements and making them formal. (I whited out our names and info, and don’t mind the vendor’s odd choice of grammar.)
First of all, I’m not too thrilled with the background. I like the ‘cleaner’ parts of the birch bark, but not the dark rough stuff. I’m finding it IMPOSSIBLE to find quality images of flat bark that’s high-res and not taken in someone’s garage or awkwardly off a round tree.
Secondly, I’m afraid that the printed bark will just fall..flat. It won’t have any texture or anything to give it some.. oomph. My new goal is to figure out how to print a clean bark pattern onto a metallic or pearl paper with a slight sheen. I feel like that will take some computer graphics skills and professional printing know-how.
Do you guys know where I can find graphic art-quality birch patterns? Also, has anybody had success or failure printing on a metallic or pearl paper?
