    Hello hive,

I need help please! I am borrowing Miss Espresso's idea for the seating chart but am stuck! I have formatted my page to the dimensions of the gift tags and now my printer won't print. It gives me no reason for the error, just shows there is an error with the printer. I think it is because the dimensions are so small -- but I'm not sure. Has anyone had this kind of trouble? Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Is there a way you can print multiple tags on one sheet and cut them out or are the tags already precut?

They are already pre-cut...they came in little bags of 20.

You said you formatted the page dimensions, but do you mean on the template, or in the printer settings?  (Usually go to printer properties or printer settings, and this is where you tell it what size of paper you are using?)

Every printer is different, so it is hard to give you advice. How small are the tags? I was able to print onto 3x5 notecards with a cannon inkjet printer (the super cheapr printers they used to give away for free), but I have not tried anything smaller, there probably is a size limit on how small you can print.

Another option if printing on the cards doesn't work is to print on clear adhesive labels that you can buy at any office supply store, and then put the labels on the tags.  People won't notice.  Or print on pieces of cardstock and then cut it out and attach to the tags, like that was your plan all along.

    Good Luck.

You could also try using a support sheet.  Like when you print on CDs using a little tray. Taping the tag with drafting tape to a sheet of card stock will usually allow a small tag to go through the paper feed. Just print a few test sheets to find the proper position.
