I started about a year and a few months before my wedding, which I don't think is SUPER early... but about halfway through my first appointment, my mother said something to the consultant about how we were planning on going to a few different bridal shops, and the consultant immediately lost interest in me, and you could tell she wanted to be done with me.
After that, my mom didn't say anything like that to any of the other consultants I had, and it went a lot better, even though I didn't buy anything.
My advice to you would be to not let them know that you are going to be shopping around.
I would LOVE a Pricilla dress, but unfortunately the ones I like are about twice my budget! :(
Good luck!
I most definitely agree with robinlinz, because they all work on commission, and if it appears that you might or might not be ordering from them, then they will lose interest because they feel that you are going to commit yourself to the purchase, if you are just shopping around. No one has to know if you are shopping around or not but you, and in the end it is most definitely what makes you happy!

So I am super excited to go on my first wedding gown search on Wednesday night at Priscilla of Boston in Ardmore. I am definitely the type of person that needs to shop before buying and it just occured to me that the consultants are not going to be a great big fan of this idea. I've heard great things about the customer service at this particular salon but I am starting super early and wondering, is it too early? I am definitely doing everything ahead of time and am super aware but I just know how picky I am.... Anyone had experience which starting early on your search for the perfect dress?? Thanks!
