Hi Hive-
So I'm venturing out and considering doing wedding planning on the side based on my mostly positive experience planning my fall wedding last year. I'm currently helping a co-worker and her fiance plan theirs but they're asking me how much I'd charge, and honestly, I'm at a loss. I'm going to ask her her budget, and I'm trying to ask myself what I would pay someone to do this job, but am not sure.
Here's the deal: she's getting married next October and out-of-state. So I wouldn't be able to help her find vedors and any day-of-coordinating (she said she would find someone close to her wedding locale). Basically I would help her with her wedding vision--colors, theme, "look," suggest DIY projects, and maybe even *do* those wedding projects myself, with her. I'd also go with her to try on gowns, look at bridesmaid dresses. It feels to me that I would get her ready to the point where I would hand off to the local day-of coordinator maybe the 2 weeks or a week before the wedding.
Here's the question: how much would you pay for a service like this? I don't want to charge hourly, as that can get hairy. I feel like a set price is in order, but how much?
i'd love any help/tips/advice from wedding planners in the making or pros!
Thanks!
