I had a bit of insomnia last night and was thinking of some funny ways life has changed since TTC. Mostly about BC and how it effects us. So here’s a fun Tuesday thread to keep off the spring crappy weather blues!
What is the best thing and the worst thing about going off BC for you! Aaaaand GO!
CON: No more controlloing Auntie Flo. I think that b*tch is now getting revenge on me.
PRO: For me, sex is sooooo much better! I feel everything! (sorry TMI)

anna4041: Great thread 🙂
Cons: Having to chart to know when my periods are
Pros: Getting pregnant (which is why I went off). Pre-pregnancy: no more messed up hormones (less headaches, more sleep, and easier time losing weight) and sex is better and more frequent.

anna4041: I am still on BC but in September we plan to start TTC so I’d love to hear what everyone has to say about this I’ve been on it for so long I have no idea what to expect!!

Cons: The adjustment period after going off sucked. Acne, headaches, unpredictable spotting.
Pros: I became more intune with my body. Sex drive went through the roof! I also was generally happier.

I’m not too sure…I was only off for one month before I got pregnant so I don’t know what it’s like to be off BCP long-term. I can’t say I noticed anything within that one month.
Pros: getting pregnant? Nice to know everything worked after being on it for 16 years I guess (I had no idea what to expect). I’ve had less headaches (though not gone) since being off.
Cons: I’d imagine the biggest con would be not being able to prevent pregnancy as easily/effortlessly and missing out on the super light periods.
I might go right back on BCP as soon as I’m able since I was originally put on it for super heavy and irregular periods. I would consider an IUD but I’m scared of making mine heavier… I don’t really have the desire to chart long term.

The_Future_KB: I have so noticed the happier thing with me too!

- Sex drive has significantly increased WOOHOO
- Less headaches/migraines
- Saving money but not buying pills
- Kept having reoccuring BV, once I stopped BC pills…it magically went away.
- My face has always been oily but it’s starting to get more oily
- CRAMPS…freaking awful, was hoping it was implantation, but nope just cramps
- Having to use an app to know when my period will arrive
So overall going off BC has been a very positive experience so far!

This is my first month being off BC in like…15 years and I don’t really feel any different honestly.

Bazinga: Ooo I forgot about the oily skin. Mine got oily (like slicker than snot oily), but only for a few weeks and then went back to normal.

megz06: Yeah it wasn’t bad when I first went off but has gotten more oily as the days go on. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m putting on too much face lotion or if it’s just oily. I have been slathering on the face lotion because it’s still winter here and my face has been so dry in areas and now it’s dry in some and oily in others ugh.

Can’t wait to go off the little nasty when we start TTC! I’m quite positive that all of the pros will out way the cons by a million!
