Friends of ours had a beautiful and fun wedding about a month and a half before ours (end of August). My husband was a groomsman and a few days ago they sent out a link to their bridal party to view proofs of their pro pics. They are beautiful pictures and among them is a just gorgeous black and white candid picture of my then-fiancé and I dancing. It’s just so cool, and when we saw it we both thought about purchasing a print of it from the photographer.
Then we thought- is that really dumb since we just had hundreds of pro pictures of us taken just two months ago, at our own wedding? Pictures that we spent a lot of money on and will spend more on to get prints and things printed of those? are we crazy?
Have you ever had a really great picture taken of you at someone else’s wedding?
*I should mention also that I am not the most photogenic person ever, so I get a little excited when there is a good picture of me taken. haha*

@delovely13: do it! Why not? It can’t be very expensive, and it’ll be a nice addition to your wedding pictures… as many nice ones as you may have, you’ll be wearing a wedding dress in ALL of them. Mix it up!
Some of my favorite pictures of myself are definitely from other people’s weddings. Amazing what a good camera / photographer can do.

@delovely13: Not at all! My FI & I have a lovely picture from my sister’s wedding – it’s a candid of us dancing and laughing. I love it 🙂

I would order it. A great way to remember that wedding as well as enjoy a great photo.

@delovely13: Go for it! A beautiful picture is a beautiful picture. And as PP’s say, it might be nice to have one where you aren’t in a wedding dress.

I have pro picks from two friends weddings with my now FI. I love both of them.

@delovely13: I would do it – I like the idea of having great pictures of us from different points in time – yes you have lots of great pictures from one event, but having a variety of pictures of you guys is great too!

Haha get it! I love pictures and it doesn’t matter where they come from. They’re memories!

You should definitely order them! Two of my favorite pictures of my hubby and I are from someone else’s wedding where my husband was the best man. We ordered them and framed them. They are from 4 years ago, and I still love them!

Here’s a better way to phrase your question: “Will I regret it if I don’t buy this photo from the photographer?”

There’s a picture out there in the universe of a moment you’ve shared with your husband. And you love that photo. Why wouldn’t you buy a print?

@delovely13: Yup, I’m with PP, definitely order it! I don’t think it’s weird at all!

@delovely13: I’m a professional wedding photographer and I love when guests from the wedding order prints for themselves! It’s not weird at all. In 10 or 20 years you’ll be so glad you had that great photo printed!
