I completely splurged just now. I am pms'ing. Got a huge case of pms "rage" and I decided I had to have a caramel apple. Well, guess what happened? I walk into the sweet shop and I get ... chocolate covered marshmallows dipped in sprinkles, 4 dark chocolate covered cherry cordials, a caramel aple, and chocolate pecan fudge.

I have a little over 2 months to go until the big day. What was I thinking? Nothing. In the 5 minutes it took fiance to come out of another restaurant with a take out salad ... I had almost completely finished everything ... but the apple which was too messy to eat in the car.

I am the WORST at this bridal diet.

don't feel bad! Sometimes in order to stay on track, you need a little splurge every once in a while!

sendings Hugs Ms H... we all go thru the sugar urges.  if youre finding its becoming a too regular thing then maybe carrying some fruit (orange or mandarin is good) or get some dried fruit (mango or pineapple) in a small snaplock bag just to get a sugar rush without all the chemicals

either way -every now and then is ok so dont beat yourself up too much

Well.....your dress is made to fit you, not the other way around.  I haven't dieted at all, it's the least of my concerns.  Your hubbie is marrying you the way you are, so don't beat yourself up about it.

as long as you still have fittings to go to, they can make the dress fit you! and your groom (and all your guests) know and love you for who you are  - it won't matter to them as much as it matters to you.

It sounds to me like your depriving yourself.  I am a former chunky monkey and I found that every time I tried to give up all junk food, namely sweets, I failed miserably.  Once I started to let myself have a little something everyday, I lost the weight.  Maybe you're going overboard on your diet?  Some low fat ice cream or other relatively healthy sweet at the end of each day may keep you from going off the deep end.  I can usually hold out if I know that I get a mini-splurge at the end of the day.

The best way to handle the sugar urge is to take a bite or two, and move on.

The first few bites are the best, when the sugary goodness tastes the most heavenly. After about bite 3 you start feeling guilty and icky for overindulging. I like to think that feeling is my body telling me that it's had enough.

So take a bite and enjoy it, throw the rest away, and do it fast enough that you don't think twice about it. The relatively large expense (say, 4 bucks for a huge cookie when you throw away most of it) might tempt you to pass it up next time.

Don't feel too bad about it - when you are dieting, you can't deny yourself some splurges...even in the Weight Watcher's program they allow you extra points to "splurge" over the course of the week or on one day. You'll be ok!!!

I woke up and felt so sick ... lol. I agree that if I had a taste ... I would have been satisfied. I just didn't control myself! Lol ... by the time fiance came out with his take away ... I had almost ate everything ahh.

EJS you go to the coolest parties!!!!!!!!!!!

My dress doesn't come in until like the 2nd week of September ... so I still have like 5 weeks. I'll be really good from now on though. I resisted bacon so far this morning.

I never resist anything, haha. I know my willpower better than that.

So having a bite and stepping away is the only way for me! I love tasting food, I don't like depriving myself from all of the depth of flavors out there!

Fill up on salad and healthy lean protein and have a bite of desert, have a smoothie or a bowl of oatmeal or whole grain toast and a bite of bacon. That's the way I've done it for 10 or so years now, and I've gone from 195 to 125 lbs. Gotta have balance :)

Sorry, I don't mean to preach. I just have a problem with diets, because they always seem to make people unhappy and left feeling like they're missing out. You gotta live.

I get non-pareils from Trader Joe's and eat one or two each day to keep myself from splurging. I get my taste of something sweet, I'm well under one serving size, and it helps me control some of the worse junk food cravings. Try to give yourself small treats regularly to keep from going overboard later!

My bridal diet is nearly non-existant. Even more non existant is my work out regime! Everyone need a splurge now  and then! No worries!

Don't stress! One off-day does not a diet break! Maybe you should try to add small sweets into your diet to prevent these big splurges. I know I can't resist ANY sweets for more than two days. So, I factor in things like five dark chocolate kisses. Or two chips ahoy cookies. if you're doing TWO HOURS at the gym, you can afford one sweet a day! It's all about moderation and balance. Good luck!!

Right there with you friend!  My fiance calls them "macaroni meltdowns" because of the time he saw me eat the entire box mac and cheese Embarassed  I find that two things help me in these situations.  One, I try to remember that living with the momentary discomfort of saying no gets easier the longer you do it (can you tell I watch a lot of pop psychology shows?)  And the second thing is that what's done is done!  You can always try again tomorrow!
