any suggestions or tips, I know most people suggest asking a bridal shop, but I am tired of being sold things, I can’t seem to get help with them trying to pressure me into feeling like I need to commit to a sale.
Here’s the issue my Sister is older but never gets to do much formal stuff, so she wants to be the flower girl. she’s 11 but she’s large… Not like over weight she just has a larger physique…
She’s 60inches tall
36 bust, 34 waist and like 36 hips… so according to most street sizing charts based on bust shes size 8 but waist size 16 and hips size 2,…. wth do I put her in? She lives on the other coast so I can’t take her shopping and I can’t guarantee that my Mom will pick out the style of dress I want for her…
She took my sister to a tailor and measured her herself and got the same results…
I need to buy the dress myself and then send it to my mom, likely to get hemmed because I want a ballroom style dress for her..
Now I will be out there on Jan 30 should I wait until then (2.5months before my wedding )?

Well…. these sizes you’re speaking of, they’re regular sizes, right, not kids’ sizes? I don’t think you can put her in a dress made for a woman because those dresses have curves (bust, waist, hips) and it sounds like your sister has none whatsoever. If you go by the rule, (order by the largest measurement) you’ll be buying an 11 year old a size 16 dress and it will just be too difficult to alter down. Do they make junior bridesmaid dresses big enough for her? If not, you may need to have something custom made. Depending on who you go to, that could take more than 2.5 months.

Definitely look into a junior bridesmaids. That seems ridiculous to put a 11 year old in a size 16 womans dress

It’s SO hard to find clothes when your measurements aren’t perfect. I’m a US sz 18 on top because of a very large bust, my waist measures a US 12-14 and my hips are a US 8-10. I spend a lot of my time in sweatpants and tanks…lol

A junior Bridesmaid style might be tough looking at the measurements, some bridesmaid companies offer custom sizing on their gowns. You will have to talk to a bridal shop for info on which companies do this, if she has a bigger waist what you can do is order the size 16 but customize the bust measurement, also you can sometimes get a shorter skirt as well depending on how tall your sister is. I know all Jasmine’s B2 & Belsoie gowns are all offered in Junior sizing I’m not sure how big they go up but that might be an option. Good luck!

So are you ordering the dress from a bridal salon? I know you’re feeling pressure from them to buy the dress but can I suggest that maybe they’re also doing this so they can give you better advice on what size to order? A lot of the companies that they buy the dresses from have their own size charts. When we were looking at dresses for my BM’s, the sizes varied about 3 up or down depending on the brand.
By the sounds of the proportions, you’ll have to get alterations done but usually they recommend to order in the size at the largest part because its much easier to take it in, than take it out.
Also, just to comment on what another person said before about having to take it in too much….it all depends on the type of dress. I had a pregnant Bridesmaid or Best Man who had her baby about two months before the wedding so we had no idea what her size was going to be in the end. At the advice of the dress shop owner (who was very experienced), we ordered large. We ended up having to take it in a lot but it was totally fine.
