I live in montreal and I'm getting married on july 26th. We have pretty much the place for the celebration, our invites, and the reception place reserved but I have a problem: I'm not into fashion, clothes, make up and the rest so finding my dress has been a major source of stress. I don't want a fluffy dress, I want something very simple in which I can feel pretty. I don't know montreal very well, I'm from Argentina and all my family is there, so I'm on my own looking for the gown. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Oh, I do not want to pay through my ears for a dress that I will wear just once, so cocktail dresses that can dub as wedding gowns will do.
If you're trying to avoid the fluff and all that then perhaps you should decide on the color of the dress you want then start looking in department stores for something that could suit you.
However, you can find wedding dresses that are cut in ways that can be used for another occasion. Simple A lines or dresses that cut off at the calves can work in other situations.
But ask yourself this: If you're not into the girly girl thing, than are you really ever going to re-wear whatever dress you choose to be married in?
Who knows, maybe the "bride" gene will kick in, even moments, before your wedding and you'll feel like a princess inside and out and will wish that you had gone for something a little more "traditional bride."
Whatever you choose, just remember to be yourself on your wedding day. The idea isn't to look like a completely different person; just look like the most glamorous version of yourself!
Hi, I'm a wedding planner and just wanted to offer a suggestion. I don't know how you feel about ordering online versus going to an actual store, but David's Bridal is a good choice. And they still have gowns that are not really flashy and as low as $100. I don't know if they deliver to Montreal but it would be worth it to give them a try.
