Let me set the scene for you a little bit…go look at Mrs. Octopus’ most recent post (the grand entrance and cake cutting)…where she and her bridal party enter is where I will be walking down the aisle. Mrs. Octo just had her reception at the Children’s Museum, we’re doing the whole thing there. The room will be divided for the ceremony, then we’ll have cocktails where they had cocktails while the room is transformed to the reception space.
Anyways, back to the topic at hand, processional music. There are a few things I’m 100% certain of. One, my mother’s boyfriend (of like 13 years) will be playing our processional on acustic guitar. He’s been a huge part of my life (yeah, 13 years, lol) and I would like nothing more then to be able to include him in the big day. Not to mention he’s absurdly talented. One of those people who can just listen to a song then be able to play it on the guitar, and the piano, and every other instrument in the world. Okay, two…I want to walk to the song Storybook Love from the movie “The Princess Bride”. This song actually makes me tear up a bit, I love it, and I love the movie (and Mom’s Boyfriend or Best Friend has already started learning this song). But I’m having trouble coming up with what I want the bridal party to walk to. I’m thinking an acustic version of “Come What May” from the movie Moulin Rouge. In your opinion, do these two songs flow nicely together? Here are the links to some youtube versions:
I’ll probably have even more trouble figuring out what to do for a recessional song, so that will be a different post for a different day, but if you have any suggestions (either acustic guitar or trumpet because fi’s Dad is AMAZING at the trumpet and it would be great if we could involve him in this as well)
PS – right now I have the two youtube pages open on different tabs so I can go straight from listening to one to listening to the other (which I think is the best way to get a good idea of how it will go), and so far I’m very pleased. I just want other people’s opinions (and suggestions if you have them) because I’m afraid I’m just telling myself I like it because I so desperately want to walk to Storybook Love, lol.
