is the dress expensive? and does she have a job? if so she should try a little harder to get the dress on time, she cant rely on the Davidsbridal credit card.. what if you had decided to get the dress from a store that doesnt offer credit cards?

Can you look around the classified boards to see if you can get the dress  in your color and her size for cheaper?  I think for most people 3 months is a nice time frame to save for a dress.  Can you offer to help her out with the dress.  If you don’t want to purchase it for her maybe you could loan her the money and have her pay you back, that would be way better then a credit card with a crazy interest rate.  As for as the credit card goes, make sure she understands that only paying the minimum payment she will being paying way more for the dress then she realizes.  It’s going to be in her best interest to just save and pay cash!

This might be very presumptuous, but couldn’t your aunt or uncle (her parents) help out a bit with the cost of the dress?

@future.mrs.v: I can totally understand you wanting her to learn how to save and budget money and you would think this would be a good lesson in how to do that.  It’s too bad she wants to go the credit card route.  Have her check out http://www.youngmoney.com and maybe that will inspire her to save and spend smartly.  Good luck!!!!!!

@future.mrs.v: oh, well then please disregard my last comment!

In the end it will definitely work out.  DB is a pretty big institution, I’m sure that they can make the dress and get it to her in time for the wedding.  I really understand the frustration about it though.  Hope your feeling better about it today!
