Thanks for the review. I have been going back and forth over a FitBit (the Flex though). I have a cheap HRM right now, but would like something a little better. I need to look into this. Sounds awesome.

I was trying to decide between the Fitbit and the Jawbone UP.  One of the best things about Fitbit is that it works with so many other companies–I am on Sparkpeople to track my food & exercise, etc., and I know the Fitbit will sync up with Sparkpeople.

Ultimately I went with the Jawbone UP anyway and I will say that I really love it.  I almost never have pockets or a waistband (I love dresses) so the Fitbit would have been hard to stash, and the UP is a pretty snazzy bracelet so I don’t even have to think about it.  Also, the UP tracks your sleep which is pretty cool.

I think in general, anything that encourages you to move more and reminds you to sit less is going to help you.  The UP doesn’t make me lose weight on its own, but wearing it reminds me about my commitment to be healthier.

@MissTatas:  I had a fitbit ultra but it crapped out on me rather quickly and I’m hesitant to buy a fitbit one for that same reason. I am thinking about getting one though, so your post (especially telling the price at Target) is making me lean towards it.

i just want to say i love my fitbit flex. i use it obsessively. i got it last tuesday and its helped me shed 3lbs in a week. i love seeing how much activity i get and it encourages me to push myself and do better. i also drink way more wter and ven get better sleep. i also have the fitbit aria scale…which i have mixed feelings about. i like how convenient it is synching to my flex and phone however the bodyfat thing is whack.

I LOVE my fitbit! I have had the one for about 4 months, I bought my DH one too, he loves the technology and syncing to his Iphone.  I recently bought us both the Flex, and I hated it.  DH loves his and is keeping it, but I am returning mine.  It was big, difficult to get on, even though you never have to take it off (which is what I LOVED about it) but it doesn’t count stairs like the one, and the worst part was if you are carrying something or pushing a shopping cart (where I get most of my steps!) it doesn’t count them! I love the one, and clip it to my bra every day, highly recommend!

@edgebee:  I know this is an old post, but I’m looking into getting a flex myself soon. Is there any reason why it doesn’t count when you’re carrying or pushing something? That seems so silly to me!
