@mlleviolette:  I loved my pro airbrush and eyelashes. The eyelashes come in different lengths etc, so I chose ones that were not super fake looking. The airbrush was awesome as it withstood the Maui heat all afternoon and evening!

@mlleviolette:  I’m doing my own makeup because I like how it looks better when I do it! You definitely don’t need airbrush in order for your makeup to stay on all day. I would go to sephora and ask them for recommendations – there are a lot of primers, foundations and setting sprays that will hold your makeup all day. And waterproof mascara, eyeliner etc. But, if you think you will be stressed doing it the day-of then get a professional. I like doing mine so I know I won’t be stressed, plus I’m going to practice a lot!

@mlleviolette:  I know what you mean about looking fake too – I know I have to wear more than usual in order to look good in photos, but I don’t want that to be at the expense of looking weird and fake for my fiance in person

@mlleviolette:  Geez I’ve never heard of streaking or melting?! That would be awful. No, mine was perfect. The pictures looked great, not fake at all imho. I actually didn’t do any trial runs or know much about airbrush before getting it done as we arrived on Maui only a couple days before our wedding so there was no time. I’ll PM you some pics so you can see what mine looked like!

@mlleviolette:  I think we might be the same person…. I live in AZ, I’m getting married in CA, and I’m not sure if I want to do my own makeup (so I look like me) or have someone who actually knows what they’re doing do it, because I’m not very good.

@mlleviolette:  Airbrush is wonderful for wedding and looks flawless in pictures!  If you don’t like the eyelashes talk to the mua, there are plenty of options out there.  When I do weddings I have a favorite that I use from MAC that adds some length and fullness with a very natural finish.  They just add the wow..something looks different but i can’t quite put my finger on it..but you look amazing!  Not the wow nice false eyelashes. LOL  Wedding makeup always feels much heavier (especially to someone not used to wearing it) and you might feel like its “heavy” but wedding makeup artists realize the difference between everyday makeup, and wanting to accentuate your through the makeup.  (Not necessarily by heaving dark colors…but by pulling out your features so that you don’t get washed out by the photographers lights, ect) My recommendation is even if you decide not to do airbrush, allow a makeup artist do to it!  And definitely do false eyelashes (but like i said if you don’t like the ones she used, asked her to bring a couple different kinds to let you choose what you would be most comfortable with!)

I NEVER wear makeup. No lipstick, no mascara, nothing. I had a professional MUA for the wedding and she did airbrush and false lashes. It looked natural (unless you looked at my eyes really close) and it did not move even into the next day. It was flawless. I was afraid it’d look to caked-on or heavy, but as you can see here it looks pretty natural.

@mlleviolette:  As a wedding photographer, I suggest airbrush makeup to all of my brides. It’s a flawless look, and photographs SO well. Plus, it stays on all day without getting that “all day makeup” up.

I suggest to get your makeup professionally done.  I got airbrushing and I loved my makeup.  The pictures also turned out flawless. The makeup didnt look caked on, it didnt make me oily or dry either.  One of my co-workers, who hasn’t seen my wedding pictures, said that my makeup looked beautiful on my wedding day.  She still mentions it once in a while, saying that it was worth every penny, and it really was!  Theres no way I could have done what she did.  I also got the false lashes, which I also didnt want at first, b/c I didnt want to look fake and silly, and she assured me that I wont.  The lashes come in different lengths so she chose one for me that wasnt too long.  When I look at the pics now, you cant even tell I’m wearing false lashes, they just look a bit fuller and really pretty.  Plus you will feel pampered on your wedding day! 🙂
