Do high quality diamonds get just as dirty as lower quality? Anyways I was just surprised to pick up my ring today from being dipped & having my diamond cleaned & polished. It had only been 6 months I think but wow, what a difference! I have an Ideal cut hearts & arrows E .91 center diamond. Just curiou. Because I was shocked how dirty it had been!

Yeah, they get just as dirty. However a lower quality diamond may have more flaws which may be “enhanced” by the dirt.

They clean your ring before dipping it, so it makes sense that it would look cleaner. Not to mention it’s submerged in a bath for the entire time of the dipping. I give my ring a scrub with dawn at least once a day (More if I’m working in the kitchen since I use Dawn.) It’s like cleaning off your glasses or sunglasses. You never know how dirty it was until its clean.

I think it’s just that with a nicer stone it’s more obvious when it loses it’s sparkle. I have a 3ex F color and clean it daily lol I have other rings that I may clean once every few moths but don’t notice how dirty it was until it’s cleaned but with my Ering is like WOW it’s oily/dirty ect right away
