That sounds really pretty-- I think the gold will be gorgeous and classy. I also thought about doing belly bands for our programs, but then I realized that since people would take them off to open the program, it could create a mess on the floor and also they wouldn't get the effect of the entire package after they open it. Maybe make the band out of ribbon and tie the program together, a la Mrs. Cupcake? Then the design you've worked so hard on will be appreciated, closure and all.
I saw some really pretty and simple escort cards with gold cardstock on Karen Tran's blog, maybe you could enlarge the concept for menus? good luck!

Hi! I am getting married in November and have tasked myself with creating our programs and menus. We are having a black tie, large wedding so my creation with be classy and formal...I want it to have life and spunk!
I was planning on doing a tri-fold with a belly band for the program (with a gold floral stamp) and a simple card (with same gold stamp) for the menu but I am looking for other ideas and inspiration! Anyone?
