we did!  just our wedding party, parents, officiant’s names.. Pretty basic, but I love paper, and so we did them anyway.  If you’re having a longer ceremony, perhaps you could put the order / readings in the program.

I definitely think you should have program but I am stickler for details. People like to follow along during the ceremony too and know what songs are being played etc. If you don’t have the extra money to get them done professionally you can DIY  or get a program/ kit at Michaels.  I know of people who have done them this way and they turned out cute and were pretty easy to do.  Also I am sure many vendors on ETSY do them for a reasonable price.

As for what to include. I agree with Rosie. It is helpful to inclue the readings and who is in the wedding. (Bridal party and groomsmen along with people singing and reading.)  I also like to include hymns being sung and also songs that will be sung for the unitity candle or anything else during the ceremony.  It is also nice to put a little thank you in the end or back of the program thanking everyone for being part of your day etc. A lot of people include their new addess if they are moving to a new place or haven’t lived together before they were married.

Also keep in mind that you don’t have to have one for every single person. I think I read in one of my bridal books that you can have one for every two people. Usually men won’t be too ticked off if they don’t get one but the women like to have one and will often keep it. I know I kept all of mine from weddings I have been to and they have been a huge help planning my wedding and choosing songs and readings.

Hope this helps! ๐Ÿ™‚

Plus they’re good to have if you have kids at the wedding – passing them out keeps them out of trouble for a half hour ๐Ÿ˜‰  Then give them the bubbles to blow while you’re walking out and they’ll be totally set!

Haha so true Melissa….the kiddos will love to draw all over them and that will be much better than what they could be doing during the ceremony!
