I was wondering how comon is it for people to have programs (ie: the processionnal) and menu cards at their wedding. I want to do it, but for cost reasons, I can only do one of the options.
Do/will you have a program and/or menu?
Is there a program/menu for every person of maybe every 2 people?

I would go for programs.
Do your guests have to make a choice at dinner or do they do so when rsvp’ing?
Instead of individual menus you could have a “sign” or some placard at the table that explains the courses available or to be served.

Are you having a wedding party? If so, I would print programs.
We aren’t having a wedding party and opted to skip programs and menus. Our caterer provides a framed sign at each buffet line listing the menu.

we’re doing programs for everyone and 1 menu per table.
i love the look of a menu at each place setting, but it’s totally not affordable!

I think the program is more important than the menu. Unless your guests will have to choose on the spot – in that case they should see their choices to help move things along.
