I feel so productive! Booked our honeymoon today—we will be staying at Excellence in Punta Cana. Super excited! Also, our Save-The-Date Cards came in from Vista Print this week and I finished purchasing the final touches for them at Michael’s today. I went off the reviews of many people concerning the quality and they were on the money! I got a great deal by purchasing the $17 Groupon. I actually purchased 2 and only needed to use one! Now I just have to figure out what I will do with the extra Groupon since it expires in November (well before our invitations/programs will be printed)
How is everyone’s else progress coming along? 7 months to go:)

@Mathis13: You could just order your invitations early, that’s what I did because I also had a groupon. Since we already have our venue booked and the times for everything and we have our guest list pretty much finalized, or at least a number of people we will not go over(max of 50) I went ahead and ordered the invitations. They are gorgeous.
Aside from that I feel like I am at a standstill right now. I have a few DIY projects to do but plenty of time to do them. No big decisions coming up anytime soon and pretty much everything that needs to be booked is booked. And I finally found an officiant that is reasonably priced. Only thing we really haven’t done is book the honeymoon and since we are only doing a mini moon here locally at a bed and breakfast I am just keeping an eye open for groupons. As soon as we see one we like we will book it 🙂

I’m feeling productive too! We have all of the big details taken care of. My to do list consists of: Booking the violinst for the ceremony, making invitations, putting together center pieces. Then I’m done! Pretty crazy to think about.

Let see this is what I have done…
- Venue/ceremony (includes linens, chairs, silverware etc.)
- Save the dates (going out tomorrow!)
Still need to order invitations, bridesmaids dresses, tuxes (we’ve picked them out), shoes for me, transportation, hotel rooms, salon/hair/make up. Seems like a lot left!
Some of the DIY stuff I’ve been working on.
Seating chart/escort card mock up (obviously with nicer paper/font etc)

So far I have:
- bridal jewelry
- finished invites
- wishing well guestbook
- snack buffet signs
- figured out caramel recipe (for favors)
- shoe clips
- grooms gifts
- Maid/Matron of Honor and Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts
- programs designed
- cake topper
- venue and caterer
- hair stylist
- dress and veil ordered
- shoes purchased
- tux reserved
- rings purchased
I guess I’m pretty lucky that my venue includes all the chairs, linens, tables, silverware, etc. so I didn’t have to think too much about it, but I still feel like I’m leaving something off the list. Any other brides get this nagging feeling you’re going to forget to do something?
@cstarkwe: Ooooh I love your candy buffet containers! Can you tell me where you got them?

I got them from Michaels, Ross and goodwill. The michael’s containers I used a 50% off coupon for each one. It required several trips to the store, but Im glad I didnt over pay!

I’m starting to feel behind. We’ve booked our ceremony and reception venues. We are about to book our photographer. We know what we want to do for decorations at the reception, but we haven’t purchased anything. We haven’t really chosen a DJ but we are getting close to making a decision. Also, we’ve decided where we want to go on our honeymoon (a cruise) but we haven’t booked it yet. I hope we can get a few more things done in the coming weeks. I have my dress and shoes. I still need a veil. Also, we’ve started sending out our save the dates. Its just hard dealing with school, money, and family isssues. I’m super excited though 🙂

@k_trini05: Oooh a cruise sounds nice! Anyways, it looks like your wedding is in July, so you’ve got a few extra months.

@prettypincushion: I actually ended up using the Groupon to buy bags for my girls. I had enough for 5 bags (including mine) and 4 personalized notebooks for each girl. The quality is great. Had one slight hiccup—I got every girl a monogrammed bag in her fave color, but the “red” thread actually looks orange. Other than that they look great!
@cstarkwe: Your card box is gorgeous!

Wow you girls are getting things done! I need to pick up the slack. Today was actually a pretty productive wedding planning day for me. I made an appointment to meet with the venue to finalize a few things and see the space set up for a casual afternoon wedding, which is what we are doing, we are having a Sunday brunch. Emailed a photographer that was recommend by my sister, brother in-law and photogs hubby went to school together. Narrowed down my wedding shoes to 2 choices, I already have my dress 🙂 Hoping in the next week or so to get a few more things accomplished. I know flowers/decorations/centerpieces I want just need to talk to a few florists.
