Did anyone catch the Project Runway Bridesmaid Dress episode last night?

I couldn't help but notice the things the judges were saying made the dresses "aweful" in the fashion world.

Anyone see a dress that looked similiar to what their BMs are wearing?  Anyone ever wear a dress that looked like the ones on the show?

I watched it! I must have terrible taste....some of those dresses I didn't think were that terrible lol :-P. Granted, some of them were hideous. I really liked the strapless green one that peach worked with. While I am not married yet, I am also not quite sure what my bridesmaids will be wearing. I would put them in the aforementioned dress, because I thought it was pretty :-X. I guess I better start educating myself on fashion before the big day! lol What a fun thread!

I watched it! I have to say, I hated the one traditional polyester bridesmaid's dress I wore, which was similar to some of what was on the show, but in sage green. I wore it proudly because I was happy to see two people I care about get married, and to be included in their day. In my opinion, they're terrible garments, but I understand the need for accessibility. Those who cannot afford or do not want designer dresses still have the right to a bridesmaid/cocktail style dress, and that necessitates cheap materials and often uninspired designs. As brides, it's hard to pick a dress that will make everyone happy. Unless you have the budget to pay for all your bridesmaids' dresses, it's not realistic to have them walking down the aisle in Oscar de la Renta or whomever. Luckily the mis-matched/choose your own trend is much friendlier towards fashion.

@lilyfaith: I do agree! While the dresses may not always be the most fashionable, they certainly meet the need for that specific moment. Dresses don't need to be top of the line and high fashion if the bridesmaids cannot afford these kinds of dresses. I personally want my bridesmaids to feel comfortable in the dresses, but at the same time feel comfortable with the price tag. I am so glad mightysapphire and I were not the only ones watching lol :-P. It's a great show!
