Okay so I emailed Jasmine’s bridal the other day to get a quote on the dress that I wanted to replicate. Now as I’m waiting for their response, I started looking at prom dresses. And a few of them REALLY caught my eye and had me thinking I could totally wear one of those on my special day instead. I’m a really sparkly person. I love ANYTHING sparkly and I think that’s why I’m so drawn to these dresses!! I’m not having a huge wedding. Just a simple 40-50 person wedding in a little rose garden so I’m trying to keep my dress simple, but pretty. Also, I know some people will say “IT’S YOUR WEDDING DAY! GET A WEDDING DRESS!” but I’m honestly a pretty simple person 🙂 and a dress is a dress to me as long as it makes me feel amazing. My question is, does anyone else feel this way!?
Here are some of the dresses I was looking at! I’m really into the beaded bodices 🙂
I’m in love with this one but it’s only in ivory 🙁

@FutureMrsPitch: Those are all gorgeous. So, I think it’ll look fabulous and not prom-y at all. 😀

I voted yes since if you wear it to get married in, its a wedding dress! You could also check out evening gowns and bridesmaid dresses.

I wrote no, but thise dresses straight up look like wedding dresses, so I say go for it

A dress is a dress is a dress, it’s the glowing bride wearing it to her wedding that makes it a wedding dress!! All of those dresses are bea-uuuu-tiful, go for it!

Heck yeah I’d do it! I think it’s a great option for those of us who don’t want a train. Really any evening gown would be chill with me as long as it’s white-ish and fits my style.

@FutureMrsPitch: I especially like the first and last ones…these could totally be wedding dresses!
They really don’t look like prom dresses–a completely white dress definitely lookes more wedding than prom!

sorry voted before I read the post. Thought you were asking if I’d wear my prom dress as wedding dress. No. I would not, but yes I would wear a prom dress. I don’t think there is much difference in white prom dresses and wedding dresses then the price.

Heck yeah I would! In fact my wedding dress is actually a bridesmaid dress in white 🙂 Like you I wanted simple but pretty — and also, NO FOOF!

Absolutely. And not only in white either. I had a blue mermaid prom dress shortlisted for the longest time! 🙂

I know two brides who did this and they looked lovely!

OMG LOL not my actually prom dress, which SCREAMS 1990s. It’s a “Scarlet O’hara” because it was made by a friend of mine out of blue crushed velvet curtains.
Yeah! The last one reminds me of my dress, which is just a white evening gown.

Those are perfect for outdoor weddings, they are great! I think that these prom dresses could pass for wedding dresses, but there are so many colorful/crazy prom dresses that would not work well.

i voted noway…then saw them. My answer is now hell yes!
