(Closed) Promise ring = Lavalier? Pin?

I personally see lavaliering/pinning as a larger commitment than a promise ring.  Maybe that stems from my association of promise rings with high schoolers.  It may also come from the fact that the people I know who have been lavaliered/pinned were more committed and in a stronger relationship than the people I know who have gotten promise rings.

I’ve never heard of being given the class ring as a sign of commitment so I don’t have any notion of the commitment level associated with that.

I believe that getting a lavalier is the same thing as a promise ring. I think all of that depends on how traditional the school’s Greek system was though. In mine, you couldn’t get a fraternity pin unless you were engaged.

class ring= becoming bf/gf

promise ring= fraternity lavalier

engagement ring= fraternity pin
