I can provide consolation.
That SUCKS. Before I got my engagement ring, I had no idea that I could be so attached to a ring... if anything happened to it, I would be so upset....so I can only imagine how you feel.
BUT, try not to get too worried until you take the ring back to the shop. If they are worth their salt, they will not stop trying to make you happy until you are...well...happy. If they want repeat business and glowing reviews, they should do everything they can to make it right. I'm sure that this will get fixed.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
Thanks, Arwen. I feel a little better now. Crossed fingers are appreciated!

I got my antique ring's prongs retipped a couple months ago, right before Christmas, and then immediately headed out of town until now. At the time I was so anxious for my fiance to come into town and get the ring maintenance over with that I barely noticed what it looked like. Since then, I've become very upset with how it came out (READ: big, uneven blobs all over the top of my beautiful ring) and am going to take it back to complain, but I'm worried about whether they'll fix it and how it will turn out. I had thought the shop where it was bought--and which specializes in antique jewelry--would take better care of these things. Ugh. Can any bees provide me with advice or consolation?
