Maybe this is old news that I missed, but I did a search and didn't see it... Pronovias has its 2012 collection up! WOW. I am getting married at the wrong time if this is any indication of dresses to come; they give me the impression that the shift is moving back towards fuller gowns. These two made my heart pitter-patter a little:

    Persia

    Pergamino

Ahhhh!!! The second one is everything I wanted in a dress. It looks a lot like the $$$ Elie Saab ones I drool over.

I really gotta quit looking at wedding sites already...

I love full dresses...if anything that's one thing I wish mine had more of. I have a slip to go underneath but it kinda seems to look a little funny...

I looovee the second one. Those lace sleeves are to die for!

This one's gorgeous too. There are about half a dozen lace ballgowns that I would've killed for before my wedding. Looks like I got married on the wrong year, when it was all mermaids everywhere.

@meliss: Step away from the monitor lol I love the dresses but honestly I am not a fan of really full dresses. I think they make me 'hippier' than I already am.

@meliss: I thought of you as soon as I saw it!

@Georgia: I hadn't seen it, but I am playing with it now. I am surprised that when I selected "drop waist," instead of dresses like these, it is showing me things I would definitely call trumpet. It's still interesting; thanks for pointing it out!

LOVE them! I love Pronovias! This new collection has some serious stunners!

It actually makes me really happy that some of these new dresses have similar design elements with my 2009 Pronovias Levante that just got discontinued! I'm really glad that the big princess ballgown is back in! Although I guess that will make me "trendy" at my wedding, but I swear I already had my dress picked! lol

    OMG! Prestigio is gorgeous!

I originally chose Pronovias Tirso as my gown and immeadiately had regrets because I had wanted a ballgown and wasn't 100% sure about the shoulder strap, but I loved all her petal details.

    Tirso:

Well look at Prestigio! She has all the details I loved but as a ballgown with the sweetheart neckline I had always imagined myself in!

    Prestigio:

@Stassney: I am not sure if I misunderstood your post, did you end up going with Tirso?  I am really loving Pronovias.

ETA: My local bridal shop does not have the 2012's yet *sigh*

@RR: I had put a deposit down on it but when I decided I couldn't commit because it wasn't what I wanted, I cancelled the order. But now I am going to HAVE to try on the prestigio.

I've been looking at tons of dresses online for like 3 months, and this is the first time I've really felt like this could be *THE* dress! It's got everything I'm looking for. I only found it earlier today but I seriously can't stop looking at it!

@chipmunklove: So pretty!  That's what I am finding, it seems that this line doesn't compare to other dresses.  The lace, the flow, the shapes seem to be very much Pronovias only.

So tell me bee's that have tried Pronovias, what are your thoughts of the designer??

I originally ordered Pronovias Gomera last October and I wanted to lose some weight, freaked out and told them to put my order "on hold".  Last weekend, I went back to the NYC flagship store and I tried on Petalo, Planeta, Peral, Pomelo, Platina, and Pergola from the 2012 collection.  Planeta and Pomelo are GIGANTIC. I'm 5'7'' and a street size 12/14.  I carry most of my weight in my hips and Planeta and Pomelo looked a little ridiculous.  I ended up purchasing Petalo.  It doesn't look as full in pictures, but even Petalo is HUGE.

They were all $2400-2600 at the NYC flagship store.  There is also a mandatory $500 alteration fee.

    I hope that helps!

Oh man... I LOVE peral.... It has everything I'm looking for - the lace, the natural waist ball gown and the little lace overlay, the belt. Do you know if they sell the overlay seperately? The dress is a bit too expensice for me but I LOVE that lace little jacket thing.

Does anyone have pics of themselves in Peral? I would love to see it on a real bride!

@RR:  I love Pronovias, the designs are gorgeous.  But I have some words for Manuel Mota.  He specifically designs he dresses for females over 6'0.  I'm 5'1 and I fell in the love with Pronovias in Barcelona but nothing works for me.  Its so upsetting.  I'm very envious of Pronovias brides.

    1. @Amaryllis:

hi girls! I'm so excited I found this post. I actually just BOUGHT the pronovias 2012 PETUNIA... I would post pics, but I'm new to this and I haven't figured it out yet. I saw it in ivory, but I ordered optical white. Has anyone seen these dresses in optical white? Has anyone tried the same dress? I don't have pictures, and I've been searching for pictures of other brides of the dress like crazy! Pronovias is amazing, and the new collection is dreamy!!! It's def. Worth trying them on. Can't wait to see my dress!!

@Mrs.Firefly1: I think Pronovias is an amazing design house. I love almost all their dresses in pictures (including mine!) and the quality is really great! I love the romantic and simultaneously classic/fashion forward style they have to them. I only tried on 2 Pronovias dresses, and I thought they were both gorgeous and well made!

Funny thing for me, when I first started looking at pics of dresses in magazines, I was drooling over a bunch of Pronovias gowns, and thought they were way out of my price range, just from the pictures and the fact that it is a European designer. But I stumbled upon them in a salon without looking for them, and was surprised that they are not as expensive as I expected! My dress was $1185, though it's not lace and many of the lace dresses are pricier.

    Hi ladies :)

Like all of you, I absolutely adore Pronovias.  I went to a trunk show this past weekend and I have to say, the gowns look just as good in person as they do in pictures.  I hate when you look at bridal gowns online or in magazines and you think its going to look like X and in actually it is a disappointing Y or Z. . . not fun.

Anywho, I wanted to let you know I spoke to Pronovias flagship earlier this week about Manuel Mota 2012 Prestigio because I wanted some pricing info before going to the store and getting my hopes up.  All I can say is I am happy I asked.  I knew Manuel's collection was over 3500 but I wasn't expecting the associate to tell me Prestigio is $8100 :(  I am going to the flagship tomorrow for my appointment so thankfully I wont be heart broken on the spot, but still its a big let down.  I tried on Farnes from the 2011 Fashion collection last weekend and loved it so I knew I would just adore Prestigio.  Needless to say 8k for my gown is not going to happen.

Well happy hunting all and I will let you know how tomorrow goes :)

Hi again :)  The flagship was great!  Thankfully Prestigio is not in the store yet, so I wasn't tempted to try it on.  They said it will more than likely arrive in about 3 wks.  They did tell me the dress is "huge" and heavy in person so a lot of time brides tend to not like it once they try it on.  Also, a major contribution to the price tag is the massive amount of silk flowers along the bottom.  I do not know if the flowers are hand sewn but if they are alterations could get extremely pricey if you need the dress hemmed (which most of the time we do).  Any way, just wanted to report my findings but if anyone is in NY or going to be in NY I would totally suggest going to the flagship.  It was such a nice experience :)

@FutureMrsSitler: Well I thought Farnes was going to take the cake, but after really taking a good look at myself in it, I realzed it wasn't 100% flattering on me.  The associate decided to have me try on Alcanar and it fit like a glove.  I didn't order the dress yet because I still have a few other designers I want to explore, but in the end I can predict that I will end up with Pronovias :)

I went to the flagship NYC store this Saturday and after trying gorgeous dresses on and sipping champagne with my parents and friends, I put a deposit down on the Pronovias Costura 2012 Pomelo.  I am 5'7 and a 4-6 street size.  I will post pics soon of me in the dress,  I thought I would get a mermaid but the Pomelo is so WOW that it won me over.  We are having a Caribbean wedding and this dress is surprisingly light.  Some of the mermaids I tried on were heavier than the Pomelo.  It has beautiful lace with point d'esprit tulle.  I had to look up what that term means but it looks like tiny polka dots.  At the first fitting I will consider maybe taking a layer out of the dress just because of the climate but the skirt is not a huge ballgown to me.  Another note to brides considering this dress is that the belt in the Pronovias picture is an add on, it does not come on the dress.  I am a girly girl and needed the extra bit of bling but maybe some brides would opt to leave it off.  SO EXCITED BEES!!!  :)
