    Hi Bees,

I always thought I would be a Pronovias Formentera Bride, however after today shopping I found Lazaro 3050 quite stunning as well. Questions:

    1. Which dress do you like better?

    2. If you like the Lazaro, do you think it worth $1,200 extra?

Also, since the sample sizes are too large for me and do not fit me perfectly, I'm including the pictures of the models so you can see how they supposed to fit.

    Thanks!

Both dresses are beautiful, but I love the second dress! The neckline looks great on you! I am also a Huge ruffles and ruching fan. It makes you figured look awesome! Good luck!

The Lazaro (on you, not on the model) literally took my breath away! Unbelievably gorgeous, even though I don't normally like ruffles.  I was a Lazaro bride too, but I'm short and can't carry a mermaid nearly as well as you.

Hmmm, I hate to tell you this but I also love the Lazaro.  You might not want to listen to me because you'd be listening to a girl who bought two dresses (I really am trying to stick to a budget!), BUT I believe if you can afford the extra, the dress of your dreams is worth it!

On the other hand, if the extra $1200 would be breaking your bank, I still love the Pronovias...and you could alter it to a sweetheart neckline because it looks stunning on you in the Lazaro.  Good luck!

meliss Don't feel bad, I'm short too (5'3). Standing on the podium thing helps. Smile.

Btw, for those that are wondering about the hair color, I recently dyed my hair from blond to dark brown (nearly black).

@cutexkitty: LOL, then you MUST get the Lazaro because it makes you look six feet tall! I'm also 5'3" and would gladly pay the $1200 extra for that :)

Both Pronovias Formentera and Lazaro 3050 are in the range of my budget. However, if I go with Formentera, I can splure on the shoes. If I go with Lazaro, I would have to cut back on the shoes.

Currently I think these shoes would go great with Formentera; however, if I go with Lazaro, I'm not sure if this shoe will fit the dress (plus I would have to definitely downgrade the shoes).

I think both look fantastic on you so it's really just which dress do I like better. I think in my taste I would prefer the Pronovias dress modified to have a sweetheart neckline like the Lazaro (it wouldn't cost 1200 to make that change)

Eh, I like the Pronovias better.  The bottom of the Lazaro makes me think of a cupcake.  Frown  I think the Pronovias flows better and looks better on you.

You look dynamite in both but I think I like the first one better actually. Something about the bottom bothers me a bit on the second one.

you look fantastic in both of them, but i like the way the material looks more in the lazaro--it looks flowier and like there's more movement to it

They are both amazing, but I love, love, love the Lazaro - you look stunning! And if you can afford it, go for it - I'd much rather spend the money on the right dress than the right shoes because that is what people will see!

I tried on the Pronovias Formentera and it is a stunning gown.  However, if you preferred the Lazaro gown, then the Pronovias may not be your dress.  Since your wedding is in October, I would wait a week or so and then try the dresses on again to see which you truly prefer.  They both look gorgeous on you, so you should choose the dress you love.

THe Lazaro is AMAZING on you!! Seriously it is stunning. I dont like the neckline of the first one - I think it makes your boobs look kind of weird whereas I think the second dress makes your body look gorgeous and fits you perfectly and yes I think it is worth the extra money

@cutexkitty: Here are two pictures of me in the Pronovias Formentera. The dress was modified into a sweetheart neckline for me, so that's why there is a little green clip on the bust. It wasn't the dress for me, but it looks great on you, as does the Lazaro :) Hope this helps!

If the Lazaro is in budget I would definitely go for it! It looks amazing and the dress is way more important than the shoes!

i think u look great in pronovias - as a guest of the wedding, i wouldn't think the lazaro dress will make you "$1200 worth" times better looking - you have a great figure and the 1st dress is already very flattering on you

You have an amazing figure!!! I think they are both so similiar and they both looks amazing on you, so maybe whichever one is cheaper? I favored the second one a little more, bc I liked the bottom better, but I really don't think you can go wrong and esp. for 1,200 cheaper.

The lazaro is definitely my favorite!! It really just took my breath away. But you look incredible it both dresses; I totally wish I could pull off those beautiful dresses. But I'm also a logical-kind-of girl and unless you think you cannot live without the lazaro, I would save the $1200 and use it on another part of the wedding. Congrats!

I love the Lazaro, stunning dress, but really, you look FANTASTIC in both dresses.  I like the second dress, I just think the bottom was a bit crazy in the sample and the designer pics I hope is how it's supposed to lay, that would make all the difference.

I personally like the flow of the first one best - this could also be because I'm not a huge fan of mermaids, but I do like them. I think they both look great on you, but I just like the first dress better.

Thanks everyone for the votes and comments. This is the tough decision, the votes are so close.

After two months of being in love with the Formentera and was 95% sure that I'd buy the dress, I was shock to find that I like the Lazaro so much. Currently, it's 40% Formentera and 60% Lazaro. I'm now debating does the extra little bit worth the $1,200 more. The practical side of me is thinking maybe not; however the materialisitic side wants me to go for the Lazaro, and if I don't go for it, I'll be kept wondering "what if". Since the last time I tried on Formentera was about 2 months ago, I think I will go back to the store to try it and see how it's compare to the Lazaro.

I want to make the decision after Thanksgiving or by the end of the year at the latest. I will keep you update and let you know my final decision.

I love the Lazaro!  But I'm bias because thats the dress I'm wearing for my wedding.  Which color would you go with?  Also I have a question, are you wearing a bustle under the bottom part of the dress?  When I tried on the sample it didn't flair as much as yours does.  It could of just been the sample being so used.  You look great in both, let us know your decision.

@cutexkitty: Did you go dress shopping at Trudy's (first photo)? I think those chairs look familiar, but I'm not sure!

I LOVE the Pronovias dress -- I think it really shows off your awesome figure!

I absolutely LOVE the Lazaro on you.  I wore Lazaro for my wedding too.  Get the Lazaro and don't worry about splurging on shoes.  Nobody sees your shoes anyway, and the Lazaro is absolutely stunning on you.  Everyone will be looking at YOU and not focusing on whatever is on your feet. :)

First off - you look great in both dresses! Secondly, I like the Lazaro better because I like the tiered fabric. I do NOT think that ti's worth $1200 more though. I think the Pronovias is gorgeous (I have a pronovias dress myself) and I think that dress is fabulous as well. Seriously, they both look great!

I personally prefer the Pronovias, regardless of brand or budget. I think you have a gorgeous figure for either style and look amazing in both, but to me the Pronovias looks more breathtaking and formal :)

Either way, you will be one BEAUTIFUL bride!

@erin62511: I don't think the dress has the bustle; I tried on the standard sample dress at the store. The dress was size 10 and this store takes good care of their sample dresses, hence could be the reason the bottom of the skirt flares out as the picture is shown. Did you get your dress yet? Do you have a picture of you in the dress? If so, do you mind posting it? I would love to see pictures of Brides in the dress so I can get an idea of how the skirt looks on different people.
