    Bump! I love this dress. As soon as I find a bridal shop that carries it I'm immediately trying it on.

    I'm tempted to try it on although I have a sneaky suspicion that at almost 6ft tall I may just look like a really gigantic tile of lace and tulle! There's definitely a height restriction on ball gowns... Such a beautiful dress though, let me know what you think! Have you tried it on?

    It's official, I'm a Pergola. Pics coming soon... was a VERY tough decision between Alcanar and Pergola (only have pics of Pergola, but Alcanar is also GORGEOUS). Surprisingly, Pergola doesn't look pouffy and DEFINITELY doesn't feel pouffy. Alcanar is somewhat, but is still also very light. The construction on the Pergola is similar to some of some other Pronovias styles that have a very fitted lining with the sheer layers coming out from the waist. You can't really see the fitted lining, but it definitely creates a different feel to the dress.

    Price where I got it in Chicago was just under $2000 (don't remember the exact amount). I didn't get the lace bolero, which would've brought it to $2050. If you'd like pics, please PM me and I'll give you the URL for my web album and the password (don't want them getting out for HIM to see!).

    I am officially a Pergola bride as well!!!!!!!!! :-) She's soooo beautiful! If you want to see pics, I can e-mail them to you... the lady at the shop scared me about posting on the web because "Pronovias would hunt me down." Lol. I don't even know if thats true, but I love it too much to take any chances! PM me!

    @OoOTifsterOoO:

    Ladies, I would appreciate if you can help. I fell in love with the Pergola and I want to order it without trying it on. I would appreciate if you can help me with the size. I am usually a size 2 BCBG. I am going to order a size 4. Do you it is is fine or should I order a bigger size? Your assisitance is appreciated.

    ooh a second question, have you ordered the matching veil? Bc I was thinking of ordering a finger tip length one and the matching one is long.

    LOL, I tried on this dress! It is a beautiful dress, the top is gorgeous- as is the skirt. However, for me, the mid section flared a little too early so I looked kind off pregnant or something. I am short though so if you're taller, you might not have this problem

    Hi Pergolas!

    Just wanted to see how everyone's planning is coming. Now that it's November, I'm starting to get really excited. Supposedly, my dress arrives right around January 1. I can't wait to see it again! :)

    Also, thanks Tifster for sharing photos of the bridesmaid dress. I'm in a bit of a bridesmaid dress quandry at the moment - has anyone else selected theirs yet? I'd love to see pics/links!

    I LOVE this dress and I just ordered it this past weekend! We are making some changes to the dress just to make it fit the description of my dream dress, so hopefully some of you will consider these!

    • I got it with the bolero and I'm going to add extra lace at the arms to make it go past the elbow.
    • I'm also having them sew satin edging onto the bottom of the bolero which they will sew hooks onto and hooks on the inside of the dress so it looks like sleeves which I will wear during the ceremony, then I can take it off for the reception!
    • Also, some of you complained about how it poofs out too high - my bridal consultant added a pearl belt over my natural waist which will be sewn in and completely covers the higher peak.

    In addition, thanks for posting pics Tifster!! Gorgeous dress!! (and great hair! lol)

    ddavila2001:Thanks for sharing! It looks so beautiful on you!! and I love the belt, which I hadn't thought of! I cannot wait for my first fitting, I'm totally going to try one on now. :-)

    Has anyone seen the veil that is pictured on the model? I can't tell if the lace goes all the way around the edges (which I'm hoping for) and my shop doesn't have a sample to try.

    Thank you all again for the compliments. :-) Soooo excited!!!!

    @OoOTifsterOoO:

    I bought a simple fingertips lehgth white veil. It is not pronovias but I loved it. It is a two layer veil. I like the pouffy style it gives.

    I bought as well headpins from pronovias. They're beautiful.

    Now, my dress is being altered .I will share pic soon after the wedding :)

    Hey girls, I love the Pergola and ordered it a few weeks ago from a Bridal store in Sydney. They were able to get it here by end of December which was unusual as it usually takes 3 months. I also ordered the veil that goes with it, the lace trimming does not go the whole way around, its starts lower. I persoanlly thing it looks better this way as i tried veils that have lace the whole way around and when it sits on the lace sleeves it doesn't look the best having lace on lace. Its really long though so i may have it shoreted. Anyway would love to see some more  pics.

    Hi ladies!

    I just got the call - my Pergola has arrived! I'll be picking it up in Chicago sometime between Christmas and New Year's... I'll be sure to take some more photos, although I ordered it about 16 sizes too big and it'll be pre-alteration.

    I'm really enjoying the way people are accessorizing it - when I tried on Alcanar, the beaded sash made a *huge* difference, so if the waist on Pergola still seems a little odd, I'll be sure to try one on.

    I can't wait to see photos from Mendie's wedding!

    Hey Ladies,

    I just ordered a Pergola for my wedding in June! I have to wait  Months for it...I hope that it will come punctual.

    It is so strange, even when I live in Europe it take the same time to get it as somebody in the US.

    You're pictures are soooooo beautiful!!!

    I can't wait to wear it on my wedding, it's my dream dress!

    @OoOTifsterOoO: Ahhhhh best stalking site ever! Thank you! Of course, it's also allowing me to stalk my runner-up dress which is not helping my dress arrival anxiety haha

    I'm wondering if anyone knows the name of the type of lace is on Pergola? One of the reasons that I chose it over Alcanar is I really prefer the style of Pergola lace to this style of lace (http://www.bestbridalprices.com/images/pronovias/2012/large/Alcanar.html) -- which I also don't know the name of. :)

    @brittaful: Hi there, I'm sorry I don't know the difference in the lace but I am also very torn between the Alcanar and the Pergola, I think I prefer the lace on the Alcanar as I saw this dress on a TV programme (Dont Tell The Bride) and have been slightly obsessed with it ever since but want the lace to go all the way down to the bottom lke on the Pergola dress.  The Pergola also has a softer more romantic feel to it and my mother and sister adore it.

    It's so hard to decide between the two!

    Hi everybody!

    I'm so happy to join the Pergola Club! I love that dress, she's gorgeous. Can't wait 'til February when she comes in! Funny, I also tried on the Alcanar, but I wanted to have a little *Bling* on my dress and so I chose the Pergola.

    Lovely pictures Tifster!

    @Mahana: Yay! Welcome!

    @blondie4: Good luck choosing... I'm second guessing myself daily, but am optimistic that when I go to pick up my Pergola on Friday I'll be very happy with the decision. For me, like Mahana said, I liked the little bit of sparkle. And like I mentioned before, I preferred the style of lace on the Pergola. I also thought Alcanar was gorgeous, but a little more bridal and similar to other dresses I had seen at other weddings. For me, the Pergola was a little more unique. I'm sure whichever dress you choose, you will be lovely! Free free to share pics during your shopping!

    Yaaayyy, got a letter from my bridal store, my dress just came in! :-) Not the perfect timing 'though, I always gain some weight during X-mas season... And I still don't have shoes! How do you accessorize your Pergolas?

    @Mahana: I'll be wearing pearl earrings, bracelet & necklace, and my shoes are the J. Crew Viv flats in Topiary. I didn't get the lace bolero, so I'll just be wearing it sleeveless/strapless. :)

    @miaybar: I don't think you can buy Pronovias online... I'd suggest contacting one of the Pronovias stores to see if you can order one over the telephone by giving them your measurements. You may also be able to order another dress that looks similar, or have one custom made through another retailer. Finally, if you have time to wait and are willing to take a chance, maybe you can keep an eye on the resellers to see if anyone has a used Pergola available in the next few months/years. Good luck!
