So I have recently completely fallen in love with the pronovias pergola dress. It is exactly what I have envisioned for my dress. My only issue is my wedding isn’t until 2015, and I had no intentions of dress shopping this early. However, I also don’t want to miss the chance to at least try on this gown. I feel like I will really regret not trying it, even if it doesn’t end up being the one.
So my question is… How long do pronovias gowns stay available for? And how soon is to soon to look at dresses?

I bought mine 18 months in advance. I was told certain dresses get didcontinued but with my experience I still saw dresses that were 4 years ago anle to be tried on n ordered so idk..maybe depends on the designer too

I have no idea about when the Pergola could be discontinued, but if you like it, go try it on now. If it does get discontinued, you could either buy a preowned one or have it made down the road.
I think that as long as you are engaged, shopping for dresses is fine. I’ve been to a couple appointments already, and I’m looking to get married in Feb 2015. If having a date so far away makes you feel uncomfortable, just tell the consultants you haven’t decided on a date yet. Just keep it short (1 hour or so) so they can move on to other brides with closer dates.
I would advise, however, against buying one over a year before the wedding. A lot of ladies get dress regret if they buy too far out. (I’ve been in love with the same dress for about 2 years now, so I might break my own rule if I find a deal haha!)

Definitely go try it on sometime soon… I was also in love with the pergola and didn’t love it on me. I ended up loving enzoani grace better! You should give both a try! Then I would wait to but it for little whole… I bought my dress 15 months in advance after trying on over 50 dresses and haven’t had any doubts so far! If it is discontinued (which I doubt will happen soon as it’s a very popular dress), I’m sure you’d be able to find it preowned online.

I agree with those who said to try it on now and you can always search for it preowned if it should get discontinued. It’s an absolutely gorgeous dress, but I didn’t love it on me either. It is slightly empire and made me look shortwaisted so it definitely fits some bodies better over others!

Definitely try it on. I was in love with it, tried it on and didn’t love it on me. My consultant told me that if they were to discontinue it, they would tell the salons so they could tell anyone who was potentially considering it. Maybe they could do something simlar for you.

thank you everyone! the tips on not buying early are exactly why I am so nervous about trying on this dressM if I love it and don’t buy it I will drive my mom nuts obsessing over it lol.
As suggested I will definately try it and if it looks good (one can only hope!) let the salon know I am interested and to contact me.
Thank you guys again! Giant sigh of relief over here…
