Proof reading vows, this is harder than I thought!

Vows are supposed to be your promises to each other and your commitments to each other. I’d cut out almost everything that isn’t a promise. You can incorporate those sentiments privately or as part of a dinner time speech. I’d agree it’s too wordy as well but once you’ve pared it back to just promises, you should be just exactly the right length.

Allyg:  It hink theyt are lovely, I wouldn’t cut out anything. If you’re going to bother writing your vows you want them to be about the two of you and how you love and support each other and I think these do just that.

Allyg:  I kind of think if you’re just going to do promises why bother writing your own vows? Surely the promises are pretty standard for any wedding? I always assumed personal vows were more like what you’ve written.
