I’ve made a couple of crazy demands for the proposal. Technically, Fiance and I have started planning the wedding, so I call him Fiance, but I know a “real” proposal is coming soon.
I want my nails done.
I want to be dressed nice.
I want there to be a secret photographer.
He has to wait until I’ve lost about 10-15 more lbs.
Anyone else want to share their crazy demands??

You are braver than I! When we got engaged I was 10lbs heavier than the first time we talked about getting engaged, and when we did I was dressed in my pajamas at 5am with no makeup or even a brush having been run through my hair with not a single picture. My Darling Husband wouldn’t have taken well to that, but we are pajamas type of people 🙂

@futuremrsk18: I told him he had to ask properly (get down on one knee) after he asked but before I said yes.

OMG, I’ve never heard of proposal demands before, haha! I had no idea my Fiance was going to propose the night that he did, and I was wearing a ratty t-shirt, yoga pants, and had no makeup on. Thankfully, there was NOT a secret photographer, haha!

The only thing like a “demand” I ever said was that I didn’t want it in public; I feel that proposals are personal, special things and I wanted it to be a memory for just the two of us forever.
I think all that planning and demanding seems to take away from the romanticism of the whole thing. I looked awful- I had just run 3 miles straight up a mountain in 95 degree heat at 6am with no makeup- and I wouldn’t change a thing. There was no big production, no secret photographer, no manicure. It was so us, I was totally surprised (I picked out the ring 6 months earlier but had no clue when it was coming), and it was perfect. Don’t worry so much about how you’ll look in pictures, just enjoy it!!

The only thing I said was to not do it on a holiday or birthday lol

Wow what did your Fi have to say?

@TwoCityBride: I don’t know if you were asking me, but he said “I thought you would say that.” And got down on one knee. And then I said yes :). Later I asked him why he didn’t do it if he knew I wanted him to and he said “I think its silly, but I knew that if you really wanted me to you would tell me.” So I guess he wasn’t that upset about it.

I asked that he do it on one knee and when I’m dressed properly as I know our families will demand pictures.

all i preferred was he ask my parents before hand and he was on 1 knee (both of which he would have done on his own anyways)

I don’t have any demands. I just told him I am waiting until he asks me with a ring. I am keeping it simple. He knows and agrees on the wedding date (May next year) so he knows he has to be engaged before that…

ummm… no. His proposal was about our love for each other and the beginning of our forever, not about my hair, clothes or weight. Sorry, but just my opinion.

I had no demands. At all. I think that takes away from the moment. I would much rather have him do it when he feels like it is the right time instead of ME mapping it out for him. Where is that romance in that?
I was in jeans, Ugg boots a hoodie and a huge winter coat in 5 degree weather with 3 feet of snow on the ground. My face was red and wind burned and we were freezing but it was a beautiful moment and I would not trade it for anything. Including me wearing a great dress with manicured nails. For the record, I had just bitten my nails off and painted them moss green…

SO MUST let my parents know about this beforehand (not really ask permission, just kinda give them a heads up and get their blessing), I’d like my nails to be pretty, but I can wait until afterwards to do that lol. And though I would like a secret photographer, I think it would be better if it were just the two of us. Knowing SO we’ll drive around aimlessly and then he’ll pull over and propose lol Then I’ll spend the rest of the drive back making calls lol.
