- Wedding: June 2013
Hello again ladies,
So some of you know, my name is Callie and I have been with my fiance for over 6 years. We have been engaged for 3 and now that we’re about to graduate from college we are finally setting the date and tying the knot. When he proposed we were obviously tight on money being so young. He used my mothers wedding ring that she gave me after she divorced. It was great for us at the time but we wanted something that represented us. The first time he proposed he took me outside and pulled out his laptop for music and sang to me “Marry Me”. We are both singers and music is our way of life. Well, past the romantic singing, he was not satisfied with the first proposal. Things didn’t work out so we ended up in my front yard, with the laptop on my Buick that I shared with my mother and standing right by the trash cans. When we were seriously talking about getting me a new ring for the wedding he wanted to do it right this time. He wanted to surprise me, because I’m very observant so he rarely gets to actually surprise me. I was a good girl and didn’t look for the ring, I didn’t look at facebook or his e-mail when he left them up, I didn’t do anything but wait, and BOY did that pay off!
I was having a bad day, I had just taken my last midterm and I had been sad lately with some life/health issues. I got a call from him “at work” and he told me to look in a drawer then quickly hung up. In the drawer was a letter to me about how proud he is of me, and how much he loves me, and all that gushy stuff and then it said he wanted to surprise me so to meet him at the Spoonholder when I was done reading the note.(I had enough sense to throw on a little make up) The spoonholder is a historic icon at the University of Oklahoma on the North Oval. It’s legend that if you kiss in the spoonholder you will get married someday. So I drive to school and as I walk up I see him standing in the spoonholder dressed in a suit holding a bouquet of roses. I was texting him while I was walking teasing if I should go back home and dress up. I also said I was embarrassed because there were people around. He urged me on until I met him for a hug and he gave me the flowers. He had put rose petals all over the spoonholder and put tea light candles all over. Then all those people that were placed around started walking towards us, and I finally noticed they were all our friends from the school of music.
That is where this video picks up.
So as the description says, those are all my favorite songs and he arranged them together and had secret rehearsals to teach everyone their parts. He even told them which parts to bring out because they are my favorites. That’s him singing the solos, and yes that is me crying in the background. (I NEVER CRY, he’s seen my cry 3 times and that is including this video)
It was the best surprise ever and I never imagined he would do all that for me. I’m one lucky girl, I have such wonderful friends and I’m marrying my best friend in the world!
