I haven't gotten the 2nd one yet, but FI insists on doing another one because the original one was really spur of the moment and he didn't have the ring yet, so he just used the ring he gave me 2 years and 4 months prior (it was for our 2 year anniversary). So right now, my anniversary ring is standing in for my engagement ring, until I get back to the states and he reproposes with the actual ring. He says his first proposal doesn't really "stand up" so he's planning a good one. I thought the first one was cute though lol
I had 2 proposals!
My FI initially ordered a picture of me on a wheaties box, and it asked me to marry him, buuuuut it took 6 weeks to arrive, and he just wanted to propose already. So instead, he took me to an improv comedy show, and worked us into the night by planning with the comedians in advance to have two volunteers pulled up onto the stage (us) and he wound up proposing in the middle of a comedy act. The applause was amazing, and I'm glad I have a cool story to tell my kids.
About 4 weeks later, the cereal box arrived, and he left it on the kitchen counter for me to find one morning when I went to make coffee. All in all, I liked the comedy show proposal better, but at least I have a cool keep sake from his impatience.
err... we're married now. I guess I should have typed "DH" in my story above.
My FI proposed the day after we met. We had joked the night before that our future selves were pefect for eachother so he proposed a CZ ring and fake flowers in his car. I wore that thing till it turned my finger green AND refused to admit that I liked him (I was 16). We ended up dating pretty soon after and 4 years and 3 months later he proposed (for real) with a much nicer ring.

@asscherlover: I like your story, it's adorable, and I love that you still have your jester ring. It would be funny if your engagement ring was an exact copy of the joke ring. :-) But I LOVE your new & fancier version.
A real second proposal? No.. the first one he's still really pissed at himself for, he's gotten down on 1 knee about 3 extra times (because he never did in the original).. I just laugh and tell him to get up, I know I'm awful, but ya the proposal was not well thought out, or romantic, but I'm over it.
@JulesSchnooks: Well, I was not a fan of the shape of the stone, and its way too big for me (I have teensy fingers) so I dropped LOTS of not so subtle hints this time. I ended up with exactly what I wanted :) He did say after the real proposal that if I hadn't dropped so many hints he probably would have gotten me something similar to the first one so I'm glad I did. I'm crossing my fingers someone tells that story in a toast. I'm sure someone will because my MOH knew me then and my mom told me before we started dating (but while I wld wear the ring) that we were going to date. She knew I liked him before I did lol.

Were any other BEES proposed to more than once: I got 2 proposals cuz my 1st Engagement ring's diamond fell out and was sent away for 2 mths....got a BRAND new ring....FI picked me up from wrk pulled over, took out a ring a re-proposed....Lol....(still love my 1st proposal more :P)
