Tiny hand! Like one of the PP my hand can fit an iPhone 6 lol. The ring is even too big for my ring finger (and they only have this size left)

I agree with PP about asking her for opinions. Perhaps the surprise can lie in when and how you propose? We picked out a simple pave platinum band because solitaires look too large on me and I love delicate rings. If you do want for a solitaire in the end, I suggest around 0.3-0.4 carat.

You definitely need to have a conversation with her about her style, please don’t guess here- its a big deal. Unless she has outright said “I don’t want a stone,” you really shouldn’t assume that she doesn’t. Save yourself a  headache and just ask her to create a pintrest board of rings she likes or email you some examples. This will let you get an idea.

My sister in law has one ring, very similar to this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/240670781/two-sterling-silver-twig-rings-black?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=silver%20twig%20ring&ref=sr_gallery_17

They’re simple, rustic, and sweet. Someday she may add another ring, or one with a small stone, but she really prefers simple and unobtrusive. Etsy shop owners are often willing to work with you on size and customization.

I’d recommend something similar to mine. I have a 0.20 carat solitare and it’s perfect if you’re looking for something minimal. I don’t even realize that I’m wearing a ring most of the time becaues it just feels like it’s a part of my body.

I wear a 3.5 and I have really small hands.

sorlies85 :  if you’ve been dating for three years and are going on vacation, the “complete surprise” is already gone. I really don’t understand why you are prioritizing your need for it to be a “surprise” over getting her a ring that she loves that she will wear for the rest of her life.

sorlies85 :  Me too! I’m quite happy with my traditional diamond solitaire, but I’d love to have one of these for my other hand. 🙂 So dainty! I think it would be perfect for small hands with minimalist preferences.
