- Wedding: August 2013
I know there’s been discussion on lavender tosses in the past, so I thought I would give some feedback on it now when the wedding is over.
Pros: Our church was ok with us tossing it as it was biodegradable, so if you have venue restrictions for paper/plastic – this might be a way to go. The guests loved the smell and that it was a little different, I loved how delighted they looked when they opened up the envelopes! I had a bunch of it landing in my wedding bouquet, which made it smell even lovelier!
Cons: You do need quite a lot for it to make an impact, I think I had under estimated how much you need in order for you to go through a veritable rain of lavender. Also, it’s light – so any little puff of wind and it will end up on your flower girl/grandmother/cousin instead of you and your partner.
Summary: If you use it, don’t skimp – you need way more than the 3 tbsp I gave each person. Also, if you live in a windy area, consider getting something heavier.
