i would much rather have the red wear off than attach a piece of rubber to a pair of perfectly good louboutins. it will only wear down on the ball of your foot anyway...the red sole will still be very noticeable.
What about something like this on the bottom to prevent some wear and tear? I would probably wait to completely recover the soles with something like you posted until it wore down.

Hi Bees!
I'm finally getting a pair of Louboutin heels, and I am stoked. I'd like to keep the soles from wearing off because I will be wearing the heck out of them and I'll only have the one pair. :-) Have any of you have protected the soles on your Louboutins? I thought about getting the rubber protectors... something like this:

Apparently you take those to a cobbler to attach them to the balls of the feet on the sole. Do any of you have experience with those? Like/don't? Any other suggestions? Thanks! :-)
