Did you know that you only have 45 days in which to claim a refund from Ebay or Paypal if your dress doesnt show up in time?
I just found out that you can only claim for a refund from ebay or paypal if you submit a claim WITHIN 45 days….and I thought it was 60 days!
I Ordered a dress on 30th January and the seller emailed me to say I should receive it between 18-25 March…..which is 48-52 days…….3 days too late! They said they held back from making it too soon because I had stated I needed it by 2nd April…..( I did tell them 2nd April but I fibbed because I am getting married in August) so IF it doesnt arrive then I would be screwed because neither paypal or ebay would help me.
So I got advice today from ebay help centre, I spoke to someone on the phone.
So here are 2 tips for people ordering dresses from Ebay/China
1…..Tell them your required date is a date BEFORE the 44th day………Then they shouldn’t hold on to it, they should start making it straight away…..a common misconception I had….I thought as soon as I ordered it, they would make it…. within reason …….but they held on to it until now, to make it and post it by the date I myself had specified. 2…..If it doesnt arrive by 44th day, even if they have despatched the dress but it is still in transit, then file an ebay dispute…..item not received……this way you get another 30 days of payment protection, and then 2-3 days later when/if your dress arrives, then you can cancel that dispute. but please do it BEFORE the 45th day, because IF you never get your dress, you have lost your money/ at least raising a dispute around the 44th day will protect your money for 30 more days. this is what I have done.
Please understand, I am not badmouthing the seller, and I am NOT saying that they are dishonest, and I am sure the dress will be here soon and I will love it ….. but we have to protect our money dont we? Money is hard to come by, and this is the reson many of us go the Ebay/China route, because we CANT afford to buy from elsewhere……and this is also a way of not getting stuffed by Ebay/Paypal….when they say ”sorry you waited too long”…
