Does anyone have any recommendations for a good tasting protein shake? Do they even exist? lol. I tried the chocolate muscle milk after someone reccomended it to me. I thought it was AWFUL. Any recommendations?

What I do is I get unflavored, unsweetened whey protein online. The vanilla flavors are gross and fake IMO!
Then I put spinach, blueberries, agave nectar/ honey, yogurt, coconut/almond or soy milk, and flaxsed in it and it’s DELISH. That way you have no scary processed crap or too much sugar. This is my best friend:

I mix a vanilla whey protein powder with zero calorie orange powerade to make a semi-creamsicle tasting drink in my blender bottle.

Try buying casein protein opposed to whey. Whey is hit or miss for some people. Casein is milk protein and it doesn’t have that odd taste that whey does. But that’s only if you prefer to make your own protein shakes. I don’t think ready to drink casein shakes are available.

My husband mixes whey protein with milk, a banana, about a cup of frozen strawberries (any frozen berries would work though), and a raw egg (I’m iffy about that ingredient). It’s a LOT of calories, but he uses 2% milk.

EAS Advantage Carb Control. The vanilla is overly sweet for me, but great for coffee instead of cream & sugar 🙂 I actively like the strawberry and chocolate fudge. The dark chocolate is a little too bitter for my taste, but dark chocolate is to bitter for me in general. 17g protein, 4 carbs or less and 100-110 calories.

I make protien shakes every day. My favorite is Designer Whey Chocolate protein with a banana, PB2 and some almond milk – its delicious and less than 250 calories.

I like the taste of Isagenix (only the vanilla) and I do add a banana. My sister in law recently lost 40+ pounds on Isa, so I’m going to give it a shot.

The chocolate milkshake and chocolate cake are our favorites. I use water since I am trying to lose weight and my DH uses milk because he is trying to gain.

@AlmostHisWife: Lean Shake from GNC is good but it’s more for meal replacement. For after workout recovery I drink Protozyme Chocolate Cake – low carb and lots of protein! It has a funny after taste but tastes good going down lol

I mix chocolate Optimum Nutrition whey protein with milk instead of water, really helps the taste! Sometimes I toss in some PB2 to give it a little extra kick, because really chocolate and peanut butter makes everything better.

I do the same as @lealorali and I also make use of organic cacao powder to flavour- particularly if I’m on the run and not near a blender- couple of scoops of unflavoured, unsweetened protein isolate and a tbsp of cacao in a shaker bottle with some water and I’m good to go! (I only add the water just as I’m about to consume though- I don’t like protein powder when it’s been “made up” for too long)
i also use pea protein a lot as I’m trying to steer away from milk based stuff.

@AlmostHisWife: Honestly, the best thing you can drink after you run is chocolate milk. Like the kind you get in a school lunch. Second best thing is 1 thing of plain greek yogurt, 1 frozen banana, 1 tablespoon of almond or peanut butter, and a 1/4 cup of skim milk.
