So everytime I see someone use STD I am like oh no! get the doctor!
-I sent the STD’s (call homeland!)
-Help me pick my STD (oooh nasty)
-How to pharse my STD (“oops” works)
-Sent STD should I invite to wedding? (no. definate. no)
These are just the things I think of when I see this acronym. I feel like the hive could have come up with something less…well….loaded for save the dates.

I saw someone say “Why isn’t anyone getting our STD’s?” ON FACEBOOK! I about died of laughter.

STDS will never be “Save the dates” to me. Ever. They will always be sexually transmitted diseases.
I always type the word, same with Bridesmaids, because BM isn’t really attractive, either.

I laugh when I see this also loll But now they are called STI’s not STD’s (the infections i mean)

@subtlebee: -Sent STD should I invite to wedding? (no. definate. no)
I just died. Literally died.

Haha. I’m a member of sigma tau delta (English fraternity), so our tee shirts said “STD- we share the love” on the front and on the back it said ” of reading “

We could change it in the same manner as the letters designating certain professional credentials sometimes are re-ordered if the logical designation would spell something undesirable. After all, there is a reason that registered physical therapists are RPTs but registered occupational therapists are OTRs and not ROTs. How about TDSs (for “the date savers”) hee hee.

@Brielle: clearly I have lost my mind because TDS became “tiddies” which is too close to …well you see what finals have done to my brain. Apparently I am a thirteen year old boy. How about DTS “down to save (the date)”.
@iammcdibble: Oh no! STD’s kill! see what I did there? ha
@imalittlebirdie: That is fantastic. keep it. quilt it. let your kids take it to school for show and tell. And then post the note the teacher send home with them about what is appropriate for show and tell.
@sweetchiquita12: STI didn’t know that. @iammcdibble: see what I did there too? haha
@Hyperventilate: Oh my. I didn’t even thionk of that one. I had three BM’s at my wedding. ewwwww

@subtlebee: You have made my day, like three times over.

@imalittlebirdie: LOL! I was in a pre-law coed fraternity (I know, I’m so cool) with the letters PAD. The joy!

Me, too! When I first started lurking on this site, I was like “wtf?” Then I realized what it was.

haha..I was confused when I first saw STD as a wedding term. I still laugh about it when I see it…but I’ve still used it! Easier than typing it out!

@subtlebee: Haha your post made me laugh! I also think “sexually transmitted disease” when I see “STD” pop up on the boards … Especially if the wording in the subject line is something similar to this: “HELP me with STD” or “STD Help!.” Bahahaha!
I typically just type out all of the words. I’m not really an “lol” or “omg” kind of girl, so I’m definitely not tempted to use “STD” or “BM” (or anything similar).
But … That’s just me. I don’t really care if anyone else does it … I’ll just be laughing if the wording is particularly amusing.

- Wedding: May 2013 - The bride's hometown United Methodist Church near Kalamazoo
Haha, I like the terminology STD. And aren’t the diseases technically called STIs now anyway? 😉

OK, I just read it as I’m proud of my Save the Dates, not wedding related. And then I went to, WHY are you proud of your sexually transmitted diseases??????
@subtlebee: My finals brain can be blamed too. I’m trying to finish a paper. 4 hours until its due, and I stlll need 1 more page to get it over the minimum.
