Because this seems to be a topic that has several people hitting the panic button, here is how to pee while wearing your wedding dress:

    On arrival at your venue

    • Open the door of the ladies' room and look in. If the floor is not clean, call the venue staff and ask to have it cleaned.
    • If the floor is clean, walk into the ladies' room and open the door of the handicapped stall. If the floor of the handicapped stall is not clean, call the venue staff and ask to have it cleaned.

This ensures that you will not later get the train/back of the dress dirty just by having it touch the floor.

    When you need to go

    • Walk into the handicapped stall. Remove (don't just pull down) your underpants.
    • Facing the toilet, pull up the front of your dress to your waist.
    • Walk straight forward, so you are straddling the toilet, and sit down that way. The train/back of your dress will now be away from the toilet, so you won't get them wet or dirty.
    • Lean forward before peeing. That way, even if you drop the front of the dress onto the seat, you will not pee in its direction.

You may now resume your panic about all the other topics for your wedding day.

Haha... you know, I was SO WORRIED about having to pee in my dress, and I guess just from everything going on, I didn't pee (or even think about having to) one time while in my dress.  I did, however, RUN to my room to pee directly after the reception.

    That is good advice, though!

I was watching 27 dresses last night and I was hoping I wouldn't have to be like them.

Lol this is funny!  When I was my friend's bridesmaid a couple months ago, I actually went into the stall with her to help hold her dress up.  Let's just say the experience brought us a lot closer, HAHAHA!

Good tips, though I'm still worried... My dress is fairly narrow in cut and I'll have to hold it and... I like to worry.

LOL great and very important topic :p Thank GOODNESS I didn't have to pee once I got into my dress because I was so dreading the 27 Dresses moment lol. I don't even pee in front of my husband, but if I had to pee in front of anyone, he'd be the most likely candidate. But you can guess how well that would go over at the wedding, inviting your new hubby to the bathroom to help you pee! lol

Thanks for the PSA! I am so worried about this for the ceremomny portion as our ceremony is at a state park with nice but still  a "no plumbing" situation! I really hope I don't have to go! I drink a ton of water and if somone even mentions it, then I have to go, too!Embarassed

Give one of your bridesmaids a shovel?

I kid, I kid. Just make sure you pee waaaaay before the ceremony. (Of course you already know that. lol)

FiftyFootBride - Ha!Ha! I am actually plotting how long before the ceremony to stop drinking water and will have to warn people not to discuss any type of bathroom activity around me:-)

It's still a nice building with t.p. but the thought of having to go and deal with my sweep train and all... Eee Gads!

    lol!

I was just actually contemplating how hard it would be to step out of my dress, pee, then get back in. Something tells me that is destined for failure and would be a big pain in the ass.

    Hahaha

I went to a wedding for a friend in May and I happened to be in the bathroom stall when the bride (and her 3 BMs) all went into the stall next to me.

The BMs held up her dress while she went, but she also made them sing 'row row row your boat' so they wouldn't 'hear' her. lol

Or just ask bridesmaids to help - it's really not a big deal and you can't see anything while holding up yards of ballgown skirt!

However, beware of over-eager mothers!  At my sister's wedding, my mother thought she would be helpful and wipe for her, my sister freaked out, jumped up and we dropped her train in the toilet!  Mind you, this was about 5 min. before the ceremony.  She was kind of mad at my mom, but I think she forgot as soon as she started down the aisle - and it makes for a great story!

    Good advice!

My dress was too big for me to remove the underwear so my sister and I got - very close that night.

AWESOME FREAKIN PSA! THANKS! Its too hot in Miami to wear stockings or garter under my dress however my dress is reasonably big - so there's another duty to pass out to one of my sisters to accompany to the restroom to check for cleanliness and help me out a bit!

Haha this is a great post!

Luckily I didn't have to pee at all while in my dress! We were so busy mingling and stuff that I just didn't think about it. My BM's were shocked that I didn't have to go because I am usually the one who has to go all the time, especially if I have been drinking!

I actually had to pee about 3 times while wearing my dress!  The first time I brought my sister and my friend in with me.  The second time it was just my friend.  The third time, my cousin was lucky enough to be standing closest to the bathroom door when no one else was around!  I began by asking "Tammi, how much do you love me?"

    It was not easy!

I had no problem peeing in my dress.  I just gathered it all up and sat on the toilet normally while holding it.  My MOH was in the bathroom with me the first time I pee-d b/c I thought I'd need help but it was fine.

LMAO!!! I wouldn't have even thought of this! Well, I can tell this much - my mom is going in there with me. I figure she's the only one that's been in that situation with me before, it falls to her now. :)

I had my husband help me the first time....after that I realized I could do it myself!

Peeing in my dress was much less traumatic than anticipated. Actually it was not a big deal at all. Hopefully this makes some of you worry about this less :).

We got married Tuesday.  Yes, I had to pee while wearing the dress.  And yes, I managed without assistance.  (I had no bridesmaids, and my MOH was my daughter, so I really did not want to involve her.)

@2d - I hope I can be as proud by the end of my day. :)
