(Closed) PSA: Service charge is not a tip for the waitstaff!

Thanks for posting this. How much should you tip? Is it based on the price of the menu or total catering fee?

The wedding venue I worked at charged R500 (~$50) per waitress. We were only paid R150 (~$18) of this. The bridal couple and family told guests not to tip us as they had already paid the tips (actually the service charge).

So no, service charge is definitely not = gratuity.
