Okay so I was just looking around in the support forum because I am bored. I am honestly surprised at how many people don’t realize that anything they post here can be found on google. So my Public Service Announcement for the day is: The internet is not private. Remember that stuff stays in the google cache for quite a while. If you don’t want anyone to see your picture or read what you said about your in-laws (general statement – not directed at anyone) then don’t post it!! End rant.
PS – This is not directed at anyone in particular or even a single post in the support forum. It is just a general observation.

Yup.. It’s crazy to me how some people don’t understand that.
I read an article about a woman trashing her boss of facebook. She got fired for it. At some point you really shoud know better.

Some people just might not care?
It also depends on what you post with your pics, I can post my dress if I don’t say the designer or name and it won’t show up in google.

@KatNYC2011: I have several FB friends from high school who all work for the same company and several times a week trash the company/their bosses on FB. I’m tempted to mention to them how easy it would be to forward their posts onto the company / their immediate supervisors, but I don’t, because like you said, at some point (umm, we’re all nearly 30) you should know better.

I never stop being suprised at the things that people put on the internet, not just on this site but on facebook too… I think at this point everyone should be aware of the dangers of the internet and no one really has any good excuse for not censoring the things they share with the world wide web

Hah… agreed. Although I do have a few pictures up, I am careful not to post any personal info.. I never use vendor names or last names or anything that could link me to who I am. I do use a variation of my user name for other things, but every once in a while I google myself and my user names to make sure that my personal info is not all over the interwebs.
